Happy New Year Every one Wow 2014 already!!

Couple of people have asked about my new Shifter and Leather boot install for my L99 (Automatic). Member CFD makes and sells several different types of shifters. The one shown and installed is the "Short Aluminum Brushed Shifter". They are actually discounted until the end of the week if interested. He sales this short version and a long version. CFD also sales the leather boots.

Here is the link to CFD profile to PM him for pricing

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/member.php?u=25649

The difference in types---

The Long Version is direct plug and play. Very easy installation. Remove screws on back of current shifter and remove. Place new shifter in place and secure. That simple takes minutes.

The Short Shifter I have takes slight modification of the linkage to work. ***Once modified you cannot go back to OEM or another shifter without replacing OEM linkage***
If wanting to return to stock a new linkage is around $175 and must be installed from underneath car. I will show some pictures below what it takes to modify the linkage. It does require a dremel. The bonus of owning this setup is ability to change knobs at any time!!

Here are some pics to modify linkage for short shifter--Be very careful when doing. If cut to small it will not work properly.

Once you have it cut to right dimension its smooth sailing!! Slide shifter on and secure.

Now for the Leather boot install.
CFD does sale the leather boot as well. Another member did a great right up on this already. It can be found here. I followed and work out great.

Here is another link which shows further installation of leather boot. ***Be sure to read to properly fill in the gap between leather boot and cluster***

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=241727

The end result if Fantastic IMO..Loving it so far and a breeze to operate. Knob was ordered from EPCO. Here is link to EPCO page

That seat looks sweet, but I'd want to debadge the ZL770 and put my own spin on it.

Sub zero comfort is a big concern at the moment. They make one that reclines as we'll, but worried if having to lose all electrical controls.

Rjdapikmoto these are seats purchased by another forum member long ago. I would leave that off when building mine along with status name placed on back instead of front.

Thanks Behic2320 a build thread has been long coming. I am always following or posting in cosmetics and lighting, but never starting my own build. With time off for the holidays figure would get her started.

I have some other mods coming soon. Key factor is sneaking them past the wife. :-).

I am looking into the seat option that reclines and moves backwards and forwards on tracks. I would lose side air bags along with heated seats. To be honest haven't used heated seats and never used to have side airbags in cars growing up.

Today is write up on Mirrors from Member Blacky in Germany.

Only around 15 of these Mirrors ever made. From my understanding Blacky is no longer making them. I Love the design and very true to concept design. However, they are not without there flaws. The mirrors will only go up and down and field of view is narrow. I have mine perfectly adjusted for me, but would be extremely hard for others if having to drive car to operate. The mirrors are also made from a polymer type material which is very soft. In Texas HEAT that is not always a good thing.

Here some photos when received along with being installed.

Dont be hatten on the carper LOL we already threw it out LOL

These mirrors came in rough condition for the price IMO. A body shop had to smooth them out quite a bit prior to hyrdo dipping.

The passenger side mechanism had also fallen out Not sure what Blacky used to secure mechanism but didnt work during shipping. Body shop fixed this as well.

Once cleaned up and dipped turned out nicely. Love the look, but check out the view...LOL took time getting used to
