The D1 is a great blower and will be perfect for your stock motor. Once you stroke it you will be limited to about 800rwhp. If more than that is your ultimate goal, go with an F1 series now. Or just sell your D1 when you're ready. Thats what i did. Going twin turbo in a couple weeks

ETA: Just read post #9 where you spell out your goals......the D1 will be perfect for you

Bo White, with the LPE dual pumps do you have to add a boost a pump or anything? 800 rwhp sounds nice but not trying to scatter my motor wife would kill me!!! She bought me the car for our 20 th anniv... I had to promise to not blow it up!! Had a 550hp 406 S10 I used to race. She reminded me of all the money I put into it and once I got it running where I wanted to it was very unpleasant on the street. Got dis interested and sold it. I hate having a strip only car. Besides I'm turboing my 08 ZX14, so if I want crazy sick acceleration and speed I'll pull that out of the garage! So I'm guessing 80lb injectors are what I need to accomplish my 600+ rwhp goal with the D1. Meth injection required at that level? Also will my hi-flo cats disintegrate? Seen a post awhile back discussing that may have to go Catless mid pipes. On vacation next few days guess I'll start calling and shopping around. I hope all our vendors are open the rest of the week! Willing to travel for a great deal! Thx for all the replies if I'm missing anything please feel free to let me know

I've been a master tech for the last 20 yrs. This is my hobby and I will be doing all the install myself. I maintain cars during the day and modifiy in the evening stress reliever.... Don't need 800 hp it's a street toy so 550-600 is plenty for me. I do like road racing did it for years on my R6 would like to outfit the SS for mega power down the straights and a tight suspension for burning up the curves at VIR.
I would like to talk to a shop to make sure I order all of the right parts the first time. I'm in Virginia Beach VA. So really no one local to go to with a lot of lsx experience.
What fuel upgrades would I need to push 600+ to the tires and what boost level would be safe? Thx again for all replies

I'm from Virginia Beach, VA - Virginia Speed has a lot of LSx experience?

The LPE is a nice fuel system and complete.Don't need a boost a pump.Good for a good 700+Rwhp and quiet. If you go on the LPE website, you can see the instructions.

Really haven't heard much about them positive or negative about their work from the local camaro club. What I have heard is that they're expensive. I did call them about tuning my camaro once I got my CAI, LT headers, hi- flo cats, and catback. They wanted my camaro for 2 days, could not give me a definite price. Also they were talking about splicing in C6 O2 sensors because long tubes cause the stock O2's to read slow. Never heard of that and generally did not give me the confidence that I needed to leave my car with them for 2 days. All I could think of was them beating the heck out of my camaro with only 2k miles on it for 2 days, and selling me un needed parts. They were talking about close to 1k for a tune I don't think so. Not bashing but telling my side, and why I don't deal with them. I'm a professional mechanic myself and they raised more questions than provided answers. My buddy who has a ZL1 told me of another tuner who did his car. Awesome results, tuned in 1 day and were a great bunch of guys to work with, made me feel very welcome and genuinely went out of their way to make sure I was completely satisfied. I told them I was thinking of a cam they told me they would only charge me 1/2 price to re-tune my car. I like performance shops that build relationships with their customers, didn't get that feeling from VA Speed.

Feel free to give us a call at Lethal Racing. We would be happy to discuss your build and plans for your car.

Ohh I completely understand. I have never dealt with them, I just know that they are the premier Chevy shop in the 757 area. The only other shop that I know of that does LSx work is Dyno Tuned Performance in Virginia Beach. But the reason why I didn't go to them, is because I'd rather go to a shop that ONLY specializes in LS motors, and they do Ford, Dodge, and Chevy. Good luck and I hope you get squared away.

That's the plan D1, just wondering if I should get a decent blower cam first. I need a cam that will work N/A for a while till I can get the D1. Really just want to do it one time. I know I said the 600 rwhp would be all I need but... We all know too much is never enough... Want a nice lope but streetable.. Any suggestions?

Hate to be this guy. But u need to read and search man. All the info is there. Or talk to your tuner and let him help u spec a cam. I really like how GPI specs the ss3 blower cam.
