Yeah, property taxes can hit you. (except the first year if you do a plate swap from an older Camaro like I did. Got a good first 10 months at a much reduced price). But doing the math, it's not that bad. A $75K car save you $4950 in sales taxes, but basing on the SS property taxes, let's just say a Z/28's taxes are $500 per year average (goes down as the car ages), you can own a Z/28 til 2024 for $50 more than paying the entire sales tax up front.

What would really suck is if you live where you have to pay full price taxes and property taxes on top of that.

That price seems about right for what you get. Now just waiting on it to be released so we can see what the magazines can do with it. Chevy really has given Camaro folks more than they could ever ask for. We have come a long way from just being happy that the Camaro returned to having all these awesome models to choose from.

Yeah, seems like a really great value to me
Borrowed engine, removed alot of the stuff that costs money, not really sure that 75k is worth it here. Most of the gains are fromt he wheel/tire set up. They should have priced this in the high 50s low 60s, but that is just my opinion.

So when are you placing YOUR order Becky??

I want to be there when it gets delivered and go for a short ride with you in the Z/28 just like we did in your ZL1.

That's the only way I'll ever get a ride in one.

Well, they told us all along that it would be the most expensive Camaro.
By golly, they were right.

Makes my ZL1 one hell of a bargain.

Yeah I can best we won't see these garage queens on the streets, maybe trailered to car shows and what not...truly sad. Oh yeah and what branch of the "CAMARO ENTHUSIAST" were they aiming for?

Send a message via AIM to 2011ss/rs
I will only look at it at $75,000 plus the dealer up charge.

Exactly.

Put the Trofeo tires on your ZL1 and you're in the same ballpark as the Z/28.

Yeah...$75K.....no thanks. GM reached too high on this one.....the car and the price tag are epic for different reasons. I could see $60-62K, 65K tops....$75K is WAY high IMO. I get that it's purpose built and outperforming car WAY more expensive car but when you can get a 1LE with every single option under the sun for $42K....or have a base 1LE for $37,500.....that is literally LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE of a Z28 and 98% of drivers cannot even push the 1LE to it's legitimate limits......the Z28 niche market is for people who just want their d*ck to feel bigger...OR a dedicated SERIOUS weekend racer!
I'll keep my 1LE until the 6th Gen 1LE comes out thank you very MUCH

Trying to not let the bitterness out so good luck to those who are able to put down the coin and get an allocation for a great car. Looks like there will be 1900 of these for sale in 5-10 years with 50 miles on them and garage dust for 125k

Happy for those that can truly afford one and use the car for what it was built for. Interested to see after the 2 year production run, the percentage break down of who opted for the speaker, a/c option and who didn't.

Ouch! You lost me at $75,000. The Z/28 will not complete me.

Agreed, especially since they could have dumped and LS7 into a 1LE and had a car than instead of 4 seconds faster than the ZL1 it would have only been 3. They purposely went all out to keep this out of the hands for the average joe, to keep numbers low and profit high and not mess with their CAFE NUMBERS, but that's my opinion.

A fantastic, impressive race ready vehicle, but in my opinion it relates in no way to the 1969 Z/28 which was affordable to almost everyone and to this day is an impressive vehicle in it's own right.

I would be more interested in an affordable, lighter weight, option free (manual windows, door locks, no a/c or cruise control and non power seats, etc) than the 2014 Z/28 which is almost an exotic type vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I love the new Z, but it is just too far out of reach for many enthusiasts. I also understand production will be very limited.

While GM has been putting out so much crap about being true to the original Z28 they seem to have forgotten that the original was a 25% price premium over a base V8. This is over a 100% premium from a base V8. They can keep it.

In my most honest opinion, ZL1 is the best bang for your buck..not downing the Z/28 but really 85k+ out the door for it?...

It would have posted a faster time if it hadn't been raining on the track when they went.
