Exclamation Attention all Camaro SS 6-speed manual transmission owners

As posted on Homepage.

Many of you are understandably concerned regarding whether your Camaro is potentially afflicted with the same issue that has caused a small group of 6-speed Camaro SS's to experience transmission output shaft breakage. Rest assured, GM has now represented that they will contact by phone *every* owner who currently owns a Camaro SS with 6-speed manual transmission IF it has or is suspected of having faulty parts which may lead to such issue. This will begin as soon as the GM's internal investigation into the issue is completed, hopefully within the next two weeks.

This means that if you do not hear from someone at GM regarding your car, then your transmission is fine.

I'm also guessing we should be able to contact GM customer service as well in a few weeks if we have not received a call and they would know if our car is or isn't affected as well in case we missed the call?

Please keep this thread on-topic. As for the shifter image used on the homepage, it's only meant to be representative of a manual transmission car, and is off a SEMA camaro. I just used it because I love how it looks

Rats!!! Does this mean I have to start answering 1-800... numbers on the phone? Looks like I get to hang up on a bunch of marketing people . . .

Sorry, I meant to add that I think this is awesome GM is doing this. I don't really want to break it by accident but I don't want to bag drive the car to test it either. Way to go GM . . .

worst case scenario is it breaks and you call road side assistance and they bring it to a dealer to fix it. It will be alright as long as you dont hammer it.

It'd be a lot nicer knowing the #'s... rather than waiting for a call.
