First of all, Great job GM. It makes me feel better about my Camaro. I have contacted GM Customer Service and they had no idea what I was talking about with regard to these reported failures. They did open a file and said I would be contacted if there were any issues. I hope NOT to hear from them. In the mean time, I'm enjoying the ride.

I'm sure you meant 20,000 ~ 22,000 Vin range. But anyway............... Don't count on them being released anytime soon. IF there is a problem with them, thats a LOT of cars to repair and get out the door.

I'd LOVE to be wrong about it but that warm fuzzy I had back when mine was built on June 25th is no where to be found right now. :(

Call me crazy, but I like that in a car."

I seem to recall my father saying something similar...but his was more along the lines of 'If I find out you've been doing burn outs again....'

The way I see it, you have 5 years 100K miles to break something so hammer on.

If tremec keeps good records and you can narrow it down to a batch of output shafts that were heat treated or manufactured wrong, then they might be able to track these units down.

How many units affected? They may never know if they were lack in their inspection and record keeping.

Theres only one reason these break, they just plain arent strong enough and thats not normal.

I have only seen this happen once in my life, and I have been repairing manual transmissions for years.

It may not be a big deal when it happens, the guy who's trans I fixed had it happen back in 1993 and his car just stopped moving. It was a clean break. With the '10 Camaro's 2 piece driveshaft I really doubt it's gonna spit the driveshaft out either.

I suspect its a heat treating flaw.

Don't be suprised if they don't make many phone calls.

To tell the truth, I hope they call me. I'm 20113, if not anything, just a piece of mind. Otherwise I'll always be wondering. On the other hand, gives me a good reason to really punch it once in a while.

Either way, thanks for stepping up GM. They could have bailed and found it more cost effective to wait for them to break. Thanks!

Although back when my first order was in for the battery cable issue there was a massive backlog, and my car moved through in 22 days. It looks right now like we are going to be in at least 40-50 days. I still think that the issues with the 4D cars might be a little deeper than what we originally thought. Unless there were a huge backorder on parts (which it could be), you would think that at least a few of these cars would have moved, but I'm not sure any of them have.:(

this only speculation but maybe the constraint on the m6 is because they will need those m6 s for our cars in qc just a thought

So is there just NO quantified statement regarding us? This is really like being stuck in the bermuda triangle. Someone said that the cars should all be moved out by the beginning of august... but none have moved yet.

You know, its funny.

Just last week it was said that tranny problems were found to be 3 freak incidents.... and that most cars are gone from Oshawa holding facility.

I call the number yet again to get status and guess what... my car is still there.

Now once again they go back to the first story, for me its simple if my car arrives in winter they can take it back, waiting a year for the top model that has already been paid for is ridiculous.
