1969 Camaro Z28 - good deal? What to ask?

I am considering buying a 1969 Camaro Z28, but not sure on how to determine what a good price is what to ask or look for? Here are the details I have about the car I am looking at...any input on whether this is a reasonable deal would be appreciated:

1969 Camaro Z/28 302
- 4speed
- 61,000Kms
- CE warranty replacement block, numbers matching intake, heads, carb, Muncie M21, 12-bolt, too many parts to list. Lots of correct spare parts. 10-year old restoration. American car.

Asking price: $31,000 (Canadian)

Is this a reasonable price and what should I be looking for when I go to see the car? New to this and appreciate any help.

Authenticity is what you are looking for. You can to read up a bit here: http://www.camaros.org/index.shtml
Spend some time there looking for the things on the car that help authenticate it. You will be able to build a list of things to look for that can identify it as "not authentic". The car in the pictures looks pretty good but some things are not 100% correct and some options have been added after it left the factory. That may or may not bother you but it affects value. The price is good but still you need to be carefull.

What you have to worry most about is the undercarriage and rust it can end of costing a lot of money to repair. Put it on a hoist and check it out very carefully. Otherwise the car look's great.

Thanks Arod. I'll look for that when I take a look at it. I also plan on taking it to my dealer and having both the mechanics and the body shop guys look it over.

I'm not looking for a perfect car (ie; all numbers matching, flawless condition), but I do want to get value for what I pay. It's hard to compare these classic cars and there does appear to be quite a wide range in prices.

Not knocking this forum, but Camaros.net is where you need to ask your questions about first gen Camaros. A lot of very knowledgeable people over there that do nothing but first gen Camaros.

One of the best sites for 1st gens is CRG.

Nice looking car and a great price. Check the trunk and windows for rust. It has lots of things that the Z should have like the m21, the bumper covers, the engine looks like a z engine from the looks of the valve covers and the brake res. Check the trim tag and make sure it has the proper X code. Was the car made in NOR or LOS, I prefer the Norwood cars myself. Less rust on the LOS cars if they spent most of their loves in California. That's a good price even for a clone from what I can tell in the pictures.

WYKOF69Z - Thanks for the heads up..I saw the responses on the other thread. Based on what I'm hearing it looks like this may be a too good to be true situation. Going to pass on this one.

Thanks for your help...BTW your car looks great (jealous).

Be safe!
I had a documented 3.31 Z with an M20. It is still around the Toronto area.
