Help, trying to replace third brake light!

This may be the dumbest question some of you have seen, but I have looked everywhere for an answer, and have found none!

I have a 2012 Camaro Convertible 2LT/RS.
The third brake light has burned out, and I need to replace it.

I have tried going through both the trunk, and the back seat area, with no luck.
I have found what I think might be the way to go, but would like to hear from someone who has actually done it.
I put the top half way down, and found three nuts and bolts on each side of the light, looks like they are attached to the black trim piece, and the weather stripping for the boot area. Before I start messing with this area, I am hoping that someone with experience can give me the secret to replacing this darn light.
