Can you drive your rear wheels up on the ramps without scraping the nose of the car on the ground?

I extend the ramp with a 30" long 2"X8" pc. of wood to raise the wheels before they go up the ramp. I put the wood app. 6" up the ramp.
It works great even on a 1997 Vette....

Plus you can put a 2X8 or 2X10 etc.under the front wheels so the nose don't scrape, If you are driving the rear wheels up the ramps.

dont have pics with the jack stands in place. but I went out and snapped a few shots today

you can either go from where the rear suspension ties into the rear cradle
or where the cradle mounts to the body

Im using ramps to lift the front end and I need to now lift the rear of the car. Where can I place the floor jack at the rear of the car to lift it up at the same time? under the differential?

I didn't take specific note, but i think the v6 oil drains to the passenger side.

If you don't have jack stands (which you should), v6 get the driver side up more. Personally... i get both sides up with jack stands and wood blocks on the frame.

The SS does not come with a spare tire so there is no need to have a jack.:(

my car ramp
Yikes! I have been working on cars for over 35 years. Last year I had my 69 front wheels nice and snug in their ramps and then used a floor jack under the differential to raise the rear of the car. Much to my horror, the car rolled off of the ramps and into the garage door opening before I could release the floor jack. Luckily both the car and I were OK.

Lesson learned for me. Never jack up the rear of the car if the front wheels are in ramps. I am sure you are careful but but I wanted to share my horror story.
