that CF hydro is one of the best Ive seen. And for those who dont know,1500 for all the pieces would be a steal. Especially considering they'd my made from CF, and not overlayed. Hell for the amount of work required in a quality overlay 1500 wouldn't be asking too much. So 1500 for CF pieces is a great deal! Keep em coming...

Fesler can you guys do 4th gen parts in CF?

What is it about the ABL that makes an insert so difficult to produce that allows ABL to work?

Nice stuff.

I can answer this for the OP...

GM made this part out of plastic. They painted the inside of the clear plastic and left a ballpoint pin width unpainted. This makes it very hard to work with.

For example - Painted items are difficult since you have to paint on top of smooth plastic or you have to remove the inner paint.

When you cover it with paint, real and/or hydro carbon fiber it goes over this (unpainted ballpoint pin area) which you can not reproduce.

There are some possible solutions but will take a while to develop.

I'm liking the sounds of this. One of the few things I really dislike on my 2LT/RS is the chrome tail light rings.

How hard is it to remove and replace with a set of these?

Gauge Bezels

i think it would be better if a cover was made for the guages. instead of the tail lights.

Could't you just use laquer thinner and remove the paint from the inside, and do what you want!

In theory, possibly if you really know what you're doing. But the door panels are a clear acrylic and the backside is painted. I'm pretty sure if you use laquer thinner on acrylic it eats the top surface of the acrylic and makes it very difficult to return them to a clear piece.

Someone who knows more about painting acrylic will have to provide more info because the only times I ever worked with acrylic was leaving the pieces clear and putting LED's in the edges to light up etched sections of the acrylic. I've never tried painting acrylic.

I like using the word acrylic.
