How many think GM will offer an engine combination with or without a super charger with over 500hp to compete with the GT 500?

It would be EXTREMELY unlikely that it would offer a gt500 competitor without a S/C. But oh yes, the competitor will come

I think the SC may be the easiest way to get there. For my situation, with smog crap and all, it would be so easy to crank out more power with a SC'd motor.

If they can supercharge the Vett, HHR, and the Cobalt, they better do the Camaro as well!!! Maybe the accessories team will be the one doing it, but as long as it is done, i don't care who does it.

I think a SC will be added and I think the Camaro will CRUSH all hopes and dreams of the GT500. I don't think GM is going to stand by and let Ford take all the glory, here. In my heart of hearts, I know it.

There will probably be a 500+hp SC engine, considering that the LS7 is said to be on the way out. And if thats gone, then GM will either need a new engine or use a supercharged 6.2

It will be dissapointing if this option is not offered at the same time the other v8 cars are offered. I'm quite sure I will not be waiting another year after the first production cars come out. It has been 6 years since they killed the camaro, and to not bring it back with some authority will be a disgrace. Isn't the LSA already to go for the CTS-V?

Affirmative; it seems to me, from what has been speculated, either the LSA or LS8 (which is allegedly slated to replace the LS7) will get the nod'. We'll find out eventually...

i dont think there has been a metion of a Z28 or an SS package but im sure if those come out we will have no problem keeping up with the ridiculously overpriced GT500 that nobody can afford anyway.

Besides the higher they get the HP up without a SC, the higher it will be after i add one!!!

the closer we get the more i think the Camaro is going to get the new LSA engine going into the CTS-V

Why do you say the gt500 is ridiculously over priced, isn't it like 42k? I paid almost 36k for my ss in 02.

i guess your right the GT 500 does start at 42k. but the convertible is at 47k, and for The GT500KR (an extra 40 hp and special hood) 80k

i thought it started at fifty...gonna have to find the website that told me that and complain...

i just cant see spending that much on a mustang that probably wont hold its value anybetter than everything else on the road.

You're definately right about the depriciation value of these cars though. I paid almost 36k for my ss and now people laugh at me if I try to sell if for 25k, and it only has 1600 miles on it. I mean it is in show room condition; it has never even been in the rain.

It's a couple not a convertible. It is black though. It looks like the one in tag ur it's signature except with the slp center mount oval dual exhaust.
