"My" CGM 2ss/RS arrives..

The CGM 2SS/RS I ordered arrived at John L Sullivan today. Unfortunately the wait since December was worthless since they changed the deal, adding $4000 more to the price of my car, after stating it would be sold at MSRP with no markups. Yeah for waiting seven months for absolutely nothing!!!

Thanks for nothing John L, worst car dealership ever, the lowlife scum work there! Hope you read this Damien! Run and show your manager that we are "ruining your reputation" again. You know it is well deserved.

On the other hand, CGM is AMAZING! Took a few pics of "my" car, wow its nice.

Not in "writing" but he has posts on the forums saying they are selling at MSRP with no markups. Has stated the whole time that it would be MSRP to me. In his emails he never mentioned this added cost until 2 weeks ago. Also have an email from him saying that when i get my VIN, the price i pay is on the sticker. but guess thats not good enough.

Not sure if i am reordering now. don't want to wait another 7 months and don't know where else to go.

Has he said this on this forum? Have you talked to the owner and showed him the emails from your sales guy? We need to get the word out about these lying bastards. Got an email address on them?

He stated it on these forums yes, search Damien Tipper or DTipper and you will see it. I have talked the manager, general manager, and the owner and showed everything. They didn't care, and the general manager told SummoneR, from these forums, and I to basically screw off. I wrote in to KCRA3, the local news station recently, to hopefully get a report going on them. We will see how that goes. I am looking to contact more stations/agencies to hopefully spread the word , and let John L Sullivan feel the reprocusions of their mistakes. I will work on getting all of their emails together tonight and will post it up.

Talk to Paul (SummoneR) on these forums. Go read his post. Also, someone had suggested something but only if you haven't walked away with your deposit back already.

You still might be able to salvage this.

Dude! Write Ed Pepper ed.j.pepper@gm.com, Tell him about this and the dealer. You know its not too late for GM to not renew contracts with some of its lying and cheating dealers.

Don't think any V8 on the lots wil be available for MSRP. Best bet is re-order to get another by Dec. Good luck..

Man I'm sorry to hear this bro.... I feel so bad that this happened. I also ordered a CGM car from JLS which has since been cancelled and i've jumped to another "honest" dealer that others have already recieved cars from and recieved the deal they were promised...

the fact that the General manager told ppl to screw shows the complete lack of respect from this dealership. I am not sure this is all Damien's fault however. I have not spoken with him yet as I plan to call him tommorrow. Even though he knows the deal is off he has tried to contact me and left me a voicemail to call him. These decisions I think are made way above his level. Whether or not he knew about the "add-ons" is up for debate. cause if you think about it the first car did not show up until VERY recently. Internet sales managers don't decide that EVERY car is going to have 4100 in upgrades applied to them.... That is much higher up in the JLS foodchain. Having said that the only issue is whether or not damien knew about this in advance and How far in advance he knew this was a fact... Cause immediately all orders placed thru him should have been told "hey this is the deal".....

I specifically remember Damien telling me at the release something weird about "hey you guys can order a few upgrades to your car from us and that'll grease the deal" I can't quote him but he hinted at this happening. This was like the beginning of May. It stuck with my wife and I on the way back home cuz we were like "What the hell was he talking about" Why am i going to order chrome rims when i like the rims that are on the car that I paid for with the RS package???? It was weird but I forgot about it thinking that he was talking about "optional" stuff, not mandatory equipment in order for the deal to go thru.... This was the beginning of May so I'm thinking he had an inkling at least at that point....

And if it wasn't his fault, he obviously can't come on here and say "sorry guys it's the upper management making the decisions and i think it sucks"... If he does that in print on the internet he might be moving boxes in some warehouse working for Office Depot or worse..... I can understand saying nothing cuz the guy probably has mouths to feed.....

Just IMO.

Jls wasnt lying.. he does sell for M.S R.P..its just that he forces the add on options upon you. Damien sent me a pm defending this practices.. He said "wouldnt you add 4k of options if you had the cars and could?" I think not!Hes just one of Jlps but boys. gotta defend his boss cause he has to protect his job. Too bad he has no scruples.. should go way up the ladder at JLP. Sad commentary about that dealership. with a little luck they wont be around later on. They already had to downsize their Saturn dealership. It now operates out of building almost the size of garden shack...He should add accesories to Saturn lineup if he needs to make$$$ so he doesnt fold.

Understandably so.... A PM defending the practice is one thing but something he said "wouldn't you add 4K if you had the cars and could?" is kinda weird.. I can see doing this to a showroom or dealer stock car. cause once it's on it's on and you can't remove "paint protection" or a clear bra. Hell yeah make your money cause dealerships are in business to make money. and cars in the showroom sell under the bright lights.... some moron will buy it thinking Turtle wax costs 1500 bucks....

HOWEVER, The practice of Pre Ordering cars for buyers "CUSTOM" built to their specs quoting "we will sell at MSRP" then requiring you to add on 4K worth of stuff you may or may not want is plain lying. You cannot use the term "We Will sell at MSRP"... cause 42K is not MSRP.....

That being said though whether damien agrees or disagrees he has to like we say in the military "Shut up and color".... Basically military speak for "shut your mouth and go back to work, unless you enjoy digging ditches"... I don't agree with alot of shit my boss and upper management do or decide to implement. But if this site was perused by them checking on me too see what i've been saying I sure as hell wouldnt be badmouthing em.

Not saying Damien is completely innocent. He is guilty by association and by the fact that the posts on here from him directly "WE WILL SELL AT MSRP" can and will live on in infamy. The great thing about the internet... If John L Sullivan himself got on here and said "yeah I did it bitches, cuz i'm rich and I have a solid gold inground pool so WHAT NOW?".... when that happens you'll see how quickly ppl stop blaming DTipper.... LOL

Car's are showing up all over the place now. If your willing to make the drive to SoCal there are several honorable dealerships that are selling @ m.s.r.p and not adding options.

I ordered 5/1 and my car is scheduled to arrive 7/9. Production is up. Good luck finding a dealership to give your money to. Sorry you were screwed out of your car. I love CGM, I don't think I have seen a color yet that didn't look good on this car.

This is illegal under Ca. state law. There are regulations that govern advertising by dealerships, and they can't do this.

You should tell them you're going to do whatever it takes to get their license pulled. File complaints with all relevant state agencies, file a claim in small claims court, etc.

DMV handles these complaints. Also, file a complaint with the BBB. BBB won't do anything, but I bet GM won't like to see the dealership's name listed as having XXX number of unresolved complaints.

We all plan on it...

Hey Matt I just saw this thread! Good on you bro for posting it!!
I'm going to add it to my signature!!

F* John L Sullivan, I've been meaning to write everyone I know jacked by them and get us all to write a letter, and submit them to the BBB and the Attorney Generals office all at once, so anyone reading this who wants to speak out about this PM me and I will compile a list and then when we all have letters ready I will send the word!

Joerod97 and outlawz I agree with everything you two said!!

Matt, call me when you get this, I can fill you in on a few good dealers I found.
but as a heads up
Novato Chevy (Paul G) and Boardwalk Chevy (Tim Boone) both in redwood city. Novato is $1,000 over MSRP, but that's a heck of a lot better than 4k for cheap crap. Their wait can possibly be short. Boardwalk has a 5 month wait, but they honor supplier pricing. Same with Ron Macmulkin in New Hampshire. Great guy, and Scotty at Newman as we all know, all of these guys are great! Honest and straight forward.

Nice Avatar pic too
