I can't help you, I'm driving from Indianapolis and it's just over 2,000 round trip. These cars are fun to drive and the more I drive, the more fun I have.

Put it on a trailer and then drive it once you get to the fest.

But then you put 1600 miles on a tow pig and trailer

I feel your pain, i live just east of St. Louis in Illinois and I'm dreading the miles. I'm making the trip but I'll just cut back on some of the miles I would drive otherwise, and drive my 98 Z28! Camarofest is a great time, wall to wall Camaro's! What could be better! It's a personal choice, you have to do whats best for you.

Did you buy it to drive it and enjoy it, or to stare at it in the garage. I kinda understand as I hate putting unnecessary miles on my car, but I don't feel these are unnecessary miles, its probably the best time you can ever have with your Camaro.

This will be our third fest, and it will be right around 2000 miles round trip, our first fest was about 1500 and our trip to the first Indy fest was about 6500 miles total by the time we made it home.

So buck up jump in your car and drive it, the depreciation of 1600 miles vs. the value of enjoyment from meeting and participating with all these Camaro gurus is not even comparable.

Life isn't getting any shorter, and Camaros aren't rare.

Drive it! I'm looking forward to wearing some more paint off my nose cone and gills.

lol @ this thread.

Fest 1 - didn't attend because I didn't have enough Time Off from work accrued
Fest 2 - Drove from San Antonio to Phoenix. Round trip = roughly 2000 miles
Fest 3 - Drove from San Antonio to Indianapolis. Round trip = roughly 2600 miles
Fest 4 - Back in Indy, didn't attend due to Time Off issues again
Fest 5 - Even though it's in the same state, I'm still looking at around 500 miles round trip for this one.

Basically, don't use distance as a reason to complain. I am definitely not even close to the kind of mileage some of the Canadian folks have put on their cars to attend the annual events/festivities and you don't hear them or me complaining. Don't look at your car like it's an investment that will pay off huge dividends at some point in the future if you keep the miles low. There are hundreds of thousands of these vehicles on the road now, so that's a highly unlikely scenario. Drive it. Enjoy it. Get a few road debris chips. Make some memories. Those are a much bigger investment than your car is.

i'm going to be leaving from the Lou as well, flying in from hawaii on an overnight the day before. personally, i'm LOOKING FORWARD to finally getting some decent driving miles on my car! - if you didn't know, Oahu traffic and roads are some of the worst in the nation :(
and there's no track/strip out here, there's only autocross in the Stadium parking lot

I'm considering it as well but on the fence, not due to mileage (roughly 1600 round trip) but because I'm not sure if I'd enjoy 11 hours in my car or if it would make me crazy. :~p

I work from home and hardly get to drive her so the mileage doesn't phase me.

Its not like its a collector car or a corvette. Drive it. The depreciation you experienced and agreed to when you signed your mane and drove it off the lot was bad enough.

i've done every fest. The first three were over 2,000 miles per fest and I enjoyed driving each one of them. I flew to the last fest...had to. But 6,000 miles just for fests alone and it was worth every single moment! LOVED IT!

1,600 miles? Easy shmeasy.

Hopefully you all will enjoy the great State of Texas! If you get a chance, see more of the State beyond Houston. We are going a day early and driving to Galveston island.
