I've been pounding GM engines for over 50 years and ain't scattered one yet and if so that's what the hell warranty is for!!!
A HUD would help with that. 2011 model year maybe! Pweeeese!

Finally some communication here. Take it in to the dealership. The transmissions control module may be bad or need to be reflashed. Tranny should never "hang" like that.

Hey thanks for the support,at least there's somebody out there that knows whats going on,anyway today I talked to one of the premier auto tuners in the northeast,Bob Kennedy from Kennedy Dyno Tune and he understands where I'm coming from because he's old school too. He say's to wait until I get 1500-2000 miles on it and then bring it in and we'll raise the rev limiter to 6800. He has 4 LS3's scheduled for super charger installation, so by time I'm ready he should be well versed!!

I'll be honest, I hit the rev limiter in my ls3 today too. It red lines so fast.

Why would you want the speed governor put back on when you return to the US?

This car is controls by modules/computers. There is no such thing as a one time thing. There is something wrong and it should be checked out. If it happened once, it will happen again.

6800 is reasonable. 9000 however is not. I wouldn't touch 7000 either with the stock valvetrain.

To our friend from Germany: on my LS1 '99 SS I disabled the governor with a Hypertech Power Programmer (approx 300USD). I would expect there will be similar gadgets available soon for the 2010 (if there's not already) that can do it.

Hypertech has already released a programmer for the 2010 Camaro.

If your planning on hitting 7k then you better plan on investing in some good double valvesprings. Gm has been a little light on the springs in the past. A cam wouldnt be bad either because as someone stated earlier these engines loose power at about 6500 which is what the cam is designed for. If you plan to overrev this engine you will need a cam. And I used overrev for a reason, because for the cam thats placed in the car stock thats too much rpm. And as far as shifting in the power band, look at a dyno graph if you shift at the redline it will drop to the stock powerband. I have ran engines you shift at 9000 rpm and I have ran engines you shift at 13,000, but the common denominator is that they were built to do this. I hope you understand what im saying here. I have a lot of respect for hylton and I agree with the shifting in the powerband, but I think anything over about 200 more rpm will just be abuse.

I'm not really the garage queen type of guy - know what I mean? I'm trying to think of another Camaro of mine that I don't beat the shit out of and this one will not be any different. You can get into the 12's with this car but it means you need to drive it like you stole it. I'm dying to get the stock SS 1320 title....

I understand. Im the same way with the driving. Every camaro ive had has devoured the limiter on numerous occasions. And I agree this car will do easy 12's as we've seen. Its an amazing car! My favorite gen so far! 1320 , good luck with that
