Unhappy

WOW that is hard to beleive. The only thing that I thought of in third grade was playing kick ball or dodge ball and if I did not behave I would get the paddle.

Would have been if it was to another student, this takes it to another level by challenging adult authority.

I realize that some kids are just born bad, but 9 times out of 10 they are bad because they have dirtbags for parents. I'm guessing these punks crawled out of the shallow end of the gene-pool.

If you kick God out of public schools- then what do you expect to happen? Kids grow up with no morals. We no longer paddle them, parents are too busy yelling, "don't touch my kid or I'll sue you!" Ha! I sure got lit up from time to time... So if there's no "real" consequences for your actions- hey, why not? Time out is not an adequate punishment for pre-teens / teens. In essence we're teaching them that they don't have to be accountable for what they do except to a certain point, then we charge them as an adult and through them in jail. You got kids raping, stabbing & massacring other kids from grade schools to colleges.

I mean this in no mean-spirited way, but when was God ever in public schools to begin with? Morals are not developed in Christianity alone.

I agree with this. The other problem is too many parents are not involved in the lives of their children and they let the television raise their kids instead of doing it themselves.

I just had a very good, but probably heated, response to your question. It wasn't aimed at you in the least....just talk about religion in schools, courthouses, etc. and how I'm upset to see something so many of us hold so dear, removed from our everyday lives to please a few.

I really don't think we should go here. That's why I've deleted my post. As far as the religion, let's just call it a day.
