In the dirt turn 9 at Big Willow!

Well I had a little off track excursion on my last track day. In the drivers meeting they warn all about trying to early apex turn 9. I grew some balls and well this is the result! I figured I could get in a little earlier and grab some speed and well off at almost 100mph.

And here is a view from the rear quarter from the ride! Front straight was zero visibility for a few seconds.. sorry to those behind me. But being first off I was about lapping people so no one was right on me.

I want all of my future "offs" to be just like that one. Well-controlled sir, that could have gotten VERY ugly.

Tires all good, there were two very small chips on the left rear wheel. Nothing I am going to worry about as they are barely bigger than the head of a pin. Maybe some touch up with a tooth pick and wouldn't even notice. But hey those are earned battle wounds. Now if it was curb rash on the other hand I would be all ticked off! LOL

No paint chips on the car that we could find when cleaning her up.

For the most part was just dusty and dirtier than usual.

Yep way to early you have to wait until the last minute to hit that turn just right. Glad you got back on track ...what kind of lap times were you getting?

Excellent job keeping your head, impressive recovery. Yep, that apex is tricky. I always want to hit it too early. I have to tell myself to late apex. Turns 8 and 9 are all about brass balls, I'm still learning the track and sneaking up to the limits slowly.

If you don't have to spend $10 in quarters @ the local car wash vacuuming out your car it doesn't even count. Nice save
