Not sure if there is any substance behind how many are sold. i think it is a little strange that production has slowed 60 or 70%. Unless those numbers are BS in the manufacturing world it would mean demand has gone away. Just a thought, which is self serving, since I don't have a car lined up yet.

With today's Just In Time inventory control systems, it only takes a minor glitch to stop or slow production.

I was getting ready to say the same thing. Just because production has slowed there could be other factors, especially since they have announced all 500 2014's have been ordered.

Could some of those sold orders accepted by GM not be allocated as of yet?

I don't think a dealer can order one without an allocation.

If I understand it right, a dealership gets 0, 1, or 2 allocations for 2014. They don't have to order any, and they can trade allocations for other allocations among dealers. A dealer wants another Z/28, they might trade a Stingray allocation for it.

Saying 500 Z/28's "sold" means that GM sold all 500 to dealers who used their allocations. Some were ordered by customers, but normally the lion's share is ordered by dealers with no pre-determined customer.

I was told be the dealer GM accepted the order, however it has not been pulled for production yet. Does that make sense?

Yes but GM has the order, thus it is considered spoken for.
There could be supplier issues or other things though that has kept the order from being pulled for production.

Yes, call your dealer tomorrow and ask for the Order Number. Mine is RPFFTF

Then go to http://www.chevrolet.com/order-tracking.html to get basic info.

For more detailed info, Becky is looking up internal GM info on your build status and target production date. What a sweetheart!!

Is the VIN on the Z28s sequential like it was for the 2012 ZL1?

Maybe a flu bug got loose and making the rounds at the engine plant....can't make enough engines fast enough...

Hey, just a thought!!! LOL

I hope whoever ordered one gets one! It's not my cup of tea, but it's the perfect car to complete the trifecta of track-performance Camaros (1LE/ ZL1/ Z/28)

For all the talk about how brilliant it was for Chevy to eliminate the A/C as standard, 90% of the z/28s have been made with an A/C.

You didn't expect anything different did you? Doesn't diminish the credibility and respect they earned by offering the delete option. Not having an automatic transmission eliminated 50% of the total prospect pool. And even more by not having a convertible or sunroof option. Thankfully they didn't allow that level of pussification on the Z/28.

If you've ever tried to get a No AC vehicle in the last 20 years, consider what GM is doing as a blessing.

Dealers don't want no AC's on their lots, and not all engines can even be configured no AC today. There is not a pulley path and idlers for it.

However sometimes there are Hidden PN's for AC delete to get the parts necessary to do AC delete right. Or make your own and pray you don't loose a belt racing.
