Great numbers
Your L99 must have really liked temperatures in the mid 70s today in Rochester N.Y.

I will post up the dyno sheet later
I don't get some of these bogus numbers people are posting. How can you say it gained 17 HP, when the tuned numbers you posted only show 10?

He's talking about in the mid range (5200 rpms). Its very common for the L99to make 20 rwhp/20 lb ft+ of torque in the mid range from a tune.

At 331 factory rwhp, you got a good "properly tuned" one, 9c1ny. Thanks for letting us know they're out there.

We are located in Rochester, NY. Actually, if you look at the bottom of the sheet, you can see the run conditions, it was between 86-89 degrees in the shop while I was tuning, ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) was 195 degrees(+/- 3 degrees) every pull.

Yes I have. You can expect 10-15 rwhp from the tune, never know, they are all a little bit different.

That makes sense about the weather. It does get a lot warmer in the shop. When it was in the low 90s, my dyno readings were showing 100 degrees.

Because yesterday was a pretty cool day (for summer in the U.S.). Here's the stats for Rochester N.Y. yesterday. I can only imagine how nice tempertures in the 70s with relatively low humidity would feel. I'll have to wait until late November for a day like you guys had yesterday.

Did your tune include any reduction in torque management? Also, did you get rid of AFM? How much was the tune if you don't mind my asking? I have an alumni reunion at RIT in October so I may have to stop by...

Ugh, I feel like a boob. I totally missed the line drawn through the middle of the dyno.

Did you do a 160 thermostat with the tune. That is the best bang for the buck mod to do as it will keep the temps more cooler which in turns more less timing out because of the heat right now..

God those are incredible numbers for stock -

Can I ask you.. ? How did you go about breaking in your car? Did you baby it for the first few hundred miles or were you on it like a bat out of hell right out of the dealership? IMO im thinking about varying it ALOT from 2k-4k rpm consistently for the first several hundred miles. Im curious cause your #'s are really high for a L99 and im getting mine soon

Thanks

Grant

yeah TM has been reduced and I did shut the afm off

on the way to the shop (aprox 90 miles) I averaged 23.2mpg in mixed driving (aprox 90% thruway 55-80mph) and I way home I averaged 19.5mpg but traffic was heavier, I drove faster when I had the chance and I ran the AC about 40% of the way home

send Mike a PM regarding prices, they are very reasonable for whats involved

your coolest run is only 5 degrees warmer than my hottest-

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34158

The pulls were made between 3p and 5p and yesterday was actually pretty hot compared to what we have had all summer (mid 60s)

Thanks for explaining that too. I noticed what I thought was descrepencies but figured I was missing something. Now I understand. When someone talks about gains, they are not necessarily talking about difference between max hp and torque of the 2 runs, rather, the difference at peak rpms.

Good to know.

EDIT: It also helps to read the post carefully....like when the OP states..."at 5200 RPMS".

We definitely need a boob smiley icon.....This will have to do for now I guess :tweetz:
