Thumbs up from the Mercedes tech!

Went to get OrangeVert checked out at the Chevy dealer today, and thought I'd stop by the Mercedes dealer to check out their 2014 offerings.

Leaving, I'm backing out of the parking space when one of the Mercedes techs (in a customer's car) gives me the thumbs-up and says "Nice car, by the way!"

Priceless! There is something special about the 5th Gen Camaro!

We got stuck at a BMW dealer once. It was the driveway before the hotel. I screwed up and then thought I might cut through after my mistake but we wound up at the service entrance.

A carhop ran out and was signalling me as I made a three point with a big grin on his face and a wave.

Half a dozen grown men looking at the Minis event and all heads turned

The salesmen were

Actually I screwed up on purpose

I have taken my SS several times to the local BMW dealership to buy parts (all too often) for my '01 740i SWB Sport. There is always someone checking it out in the parking lot when I go to leave.

In addition to other thumbs up or "nice car" shouts....it seems like kids in school buses really love the camaros. I get lots of waves from them.

Yes, Kids in school buses go crazy for the Camaro! Many times I get behind my daughters school bus and all her friends be like "Kelly there goes your mom".

Exactly, I get a lot of looks from people when I empty my bank account for maintenance on my Clk, ha ha. But the tables turn when I pass by a SLS on the lot!

Yes, the Camaro is a very cool, great looking car for the money and I enjoy mine. But let's not pretend it's in the same ballpark as a Merceded SLS or a BMW M6!

BMW M6 Boring old man car. I see tons of them. They are far more common than my ZL1 and it is hard to believe they cost 100K +.

The SLS is very cool and far more rare. They do look mean. Coolest new cars I have seen recently was a Mercedes SLR McLaren and a Porsche Carrera GT.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_SLR_McLaren
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_Carrera_GT

Funny story. I was stuck in traffic with a Ferrari 458 Italia in the lane beside me. I look over to see the driver taking photos of my ZL1 with his phone. Was kind of flattering to think a guy with a 200K + Ferrari would consider a crappy Camaro to be pic worthy. On the other side the 458 sure was pretty and sounded mean.

On a road trip last weekend with NorCal Camaros, we went up the coast along hwy 1 through a bunch of small towns. I swear each town stopped in the streets as the 5 of us rolled through. They were all staring and rubber necking.
Even before we started just leaving the parking lot there were a bunch of kids going to the park nearby and staring at us and one even walked in to a pole
Permigrin was big for all 5 of us.

+1

I have no interest in either of those cars. You're either a Gen5 Camaro guy or your not. I could own either one of those cars but... don't care to. Love my sexy ass-kickin' Camaro!

So prior then my Camaro I had 2003 Mercedes-Benz S500 fully loaded with everything possible, and it was a very nice high end car that I had for 5 years...but... I sold it...lol Why, well because it was getting way to much cost for maintenance and I could not take it any more.. everything cost arm and a leg.... imagine $260 for oil change so called "Service A" or "Service B" ... come one....

As far as the Camaro goes, I'm going to make almost a year now, and EVERY SINGLE DAY I SEE MY CAR ... EVERY SINGLE DAY I DRIVE IT ..IT PUTS BIG SMILE ON MY FACE... every day...
I have got only hand full compliments on my Benz.. .but on the Camaro ... everywhere I go... just compliments, turning heads, puts smiles and thumbs up...

I have never ever been so exited about owning a car, like I'm now with my Camaro. So there is plenty nice cars out there, no doubt.... but CAMARO is SPECIAL!!!!!

I see a lot of people who enjoy that. Usually they have a phone glued to their head and ignore an oncoming fire truck.

I prefer to feel the wheels and try to knock my brain out my ear on a turn.
But that's just me.
