Recall!!! 2014 2LS

"Your 2014 model year Chevorlet Camaro vehicle, equipped with a 3.6L engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, and 2.92 axle ratio may have been built with an incorrect engine performance calibration."

So what is the engine calibration going to do if it isn't set right? My engine runs perfectly fine so I don't know if it's worth getting checked out.

Maybe the gearing is wrong. We could have a faster gearing instead of the 2.92 gearing

If the messed up an engine calibration and the mentioned the gearing then it could be that they're worried about your speedo and odo being slightly off.

You are limited to 118 mph because of your wheel/tire package so it is not calibrated too slow.

Don't do it! BMW did the same thing to 2001-2004 M3's. They were too fast so they issued a recall to de-tune engines to make them last longer with less warranty claims.

Yeah that was crazy by a car for its performance claims and then the detune it because its breaking to much for there liking. Only caveat I would say is from what I have heard and from what the calculations on power to weight to gearing those cars are substantially under rated on the spec sheets.

If it's a recall, it is more likely emissions, FE or safety. Those are what usually lead to a recall.

Haven't seen the letter, but if the car is not calibrated to what it was certified for emissions or FE it would be a recall.

If it is a "voluntary" recall that is a different matter.

Guessing, but if it isn't making FE or emissions, it might be making more power. That is the trifecta of balance with durability.
