Pissed off

Ordered a MDP hood over 2 months ago and it finally shipped on to arrive cracked. Something must have fallen on it. Only saw it briefly but it looked damn good.

That sucks man, contact MPD right away and figure out how to file a claim with the shipping carrier, the sooner you act the better.

Dang - that sucks, was nervous about that when I ordered as well. Unfortunately he makes each one to order so I don't know how much of a rush he'll be able to do. Keep your hopes up, once it's on it's worth it

Man, that blows, File a claim against the shipping company I'm sure it was insured. I know how you feel when you're excited to get something and waited as long as you did and it comes broken, it really sucks. Sorry to hear that but it's worth the wait for MPD Eric does quality work. I have one of his.

I'd rather be pissed off than pissed on :-)

This is why shipments are insured

I have to clarify here,

This hood was ordered from Showstoppers. As I didnt get a ship to address for it, I assumed it was for one of Petes projects and was shipping with his order of 5 showstopper hoods. Normal for us to bulk ship to Pete, rarely do we ship to his end customer Otherwise it would of shipped much sooner. Typical is about 3-5 weeks.
The good news is its insured. Sounds like you took pictures of the damage and then refused it? I should see it back soon and go from there with the claim. We will get another in the works right away for you.

Eric,
Yes you are correct. I did purchase it from Pete at show stoppers. I did take pics and refused delivery. I also got a copy of the shipping document stating it was damaged. I didn't look at the entire hood but what I did see made it feel worse because of the quality of the hood. I went with your hood based mainly on recommendations. Thanks for the help

OMG they beat the heck out of it!

Reminds me of when I tried to use UPS Freight for a while. One order they shipped came back looking like someone used it to vent some serious anger issues out on it, Im talking seriously busted up! This one look really bad also.

I went with Saia via Freightquote.com because of your residential delivery. My normal carrier ABF Freight does an awesome job but their residential surcharge is an additional 108.50 so it would of been about 260.00

What's it matter, its not like one doesn't have accidents and the other handles only with white gloves.

About 15 years ago I found a good door for my '70 Buick. Rust-free, from a west coast save yard.

It was shipped to me, national carrier.

If my car was green, I honestly could have buffed the door and just installed it...except that the front of the door, which comes to a slight point, was crushed flat in shipping. They must have dropped it.

Shipping is a gamble.

FYI I Usually use ABF freight ONE hood damaged in last 6 years with them, 3 in the last 15 years.

Used UPS freight, 2 out of 10 shipments damaged.

Used Saia 3 times, 1 hood damaged

Yes shit happens. I would say ABF Freight, it was a accident. The rest of them just do not care.

Lesson learned. I will not try to try to save any residential delivery people money by using any other carrier than ABF in the future.
