Just my opinion, but, black windows on a while car looks AWESOME!! You should be able to do 20% legally, right? That would look great. But if you want more visibility at night, might want to go a little lighter. Good luck! Post some pics when you have it done.

I just roll my windows down at night so I can back up. Get at least 20% on the windows and an eyebrow. At sunset with no sunglasses the eyebrow is a life saver! And I love the look of it.

I'd go with a 35% if you're worried about LEO's ... It'll provide function and isn't so dark where they'd be inclined to pull you like 20% and below will net you. That said I have 20% on all my vehicles for the past 15 years or so with no tickets.

Florida's limit is 28% for driver and passenger side and unlimited for rear quarters and back with brow to A1 line. That being said I have 25% on front doors and 15% on the rears and brow of my Chevy SS and 20% on my ZL1 all around with no issues.

Don't do the blue thing... looks like crap. A nice (legal) smoke tint will look great on your car.

It does seem a little pricey. I paid $140 for a national brand tint installed at a well known local chain and it looks like crap.

So I would gladly pay what you said to have it done right. So I might tell the guy that. Tell him it is pricey, but you get what you pay for, and you'll pay him that to make sure there's no bubbles in the back window and no trahs in the tint anywhere.

I have 5% on the rear windows and 20% on the driver/passenger windows. I still have to roll my window down while backing up next to a curb at night.

Thumbs up Tinted Windows

I got my yellow 2014 Camaro the 2nd day I had it. The tint shop put 20 on it and so far no cops have bothered me. LOL one pulled up next to me and gave me a thumbs up. I am in NJ. Did not tint the front windshield.

I turn my interior light on if I interact with LEOs at night and roll my windows down in the day and none have said anything about my 12%

It just looks so damned good

Just get the tint. Tint looks great whichever shade/% you decide to go with. If the cops pull you over for it, you can always have it removed and have the ticket waived (at least most cities allow so). Or you can roll down your windows when the cops are nearby
...
Did I mention tints are complete badassnessly lookin

I live in florida too (south florida) and I had 15% on my windows but I thought it wasn't dark enough so I put on 5%. I get pulled over once in awhile for the tints but haven't and hopefully won't be cited for it. 225 is a little high though. I paid like 130 after taxes at a family owned shop thats highly reputable. Allstate tint and blinds in davie, fl

It's 28% max up front in FL. Mine are like 15% or lower right now and I can't see a damn thing out of them (I'm 28 with great eyesight!) The previous owner did this but fixing this is on my list of things to do this week. Yes, looks great - but not attracting cops is high on my priority list

28% is the limit here too. Had it all around on my Jeep. Looked good and, after I got used to it, wasn't hard to see out of at night.

I got 30% here in PA and it looks dark from the outside but you can easily see out of it from inside. I got the formula 1 tint which is ceramic I believe. Costs around the same as yours maybe even $270 but worth it. Car remains cool, can still see out but not so easily in and makes the car look good. I would suggest going slightly darker, maybe 25% but that's just my opinion.

I live in Florida too. Never had an issue with my tint and I DD my car. (20% tint) If you drive a ton tint is a must in this state. If you drive at night I personally would not go below 20%. Darker tint makes seeing out the side windows at night hard. This is especially true if the road does not have street lights. My 2010 was supposed to have 20% but it was darker. My guess is about 15%. I had to roll the windows down to make a turn at night because I could not see. My ZL1 has 20%.

As for tint cost. If you plan on keeping the car more than 2 years buy the best tint you can get. FL sun will bleach out cheap tint quickly and you will have crappy purple windows or it will bubble. Also check the tinters work as the installer is as important as the material. I personally would not let anyone tint my car they does not tint below the window felts, tints the rear window in more than one piece or does not tint over the third brake light. All these thing make for a better looking longer lasting job but require more effort for the tinter to do. Any good tinter should do them.

I had a car with a "inexpensive" tint job by a national tint chain. If faded and had to be replaced less than two years after it was installed. Removing the old tint was a total PITA. I did it personally as the cost to have it removed was a ton. The worse is that most tinters will not guarantee that removing old tint will not damage your rear window defrosters.

So buy good tint and find a good installer.
