Close to stock? Why not just stock if you're doing a stock to stock comparison?

You would be hard press to fine anyone with a "stock" Cobra 03/04 that actually run them as well.

Lol That same WRX would probably smoke a Camaro too. There are WRX's and Evo's running around Miami that destroy people on the track. Just goes to show you just how well that car is built.

I can;t watch the video, but my guess would be an older STi vs a 03-04 Cobra in a 1/4 mile race from a stop. In that case the case the last gen ST could run a high 12 or low 13, same as the Cobra and yep, the Camaro SS. If it is a roll race, I callk BS and the STi was modified because the STis would beat my modified Grand Prix GTP BAD off the line but I would be reeling them in the rest of the way down the track, but the launch still got them the win . My GTP was good for about a 13.5@104

Its an 08-09 model year. Stock.

The 08+ STi's are fast, people just dont give them credit because they arent as capable as the older ones when it comes to Corners. Straight out they launch real hard and stay fast.

You know what STIs trap stock? There is no way that was a stock STI... even with the launch the Cobra would have been pulling hard by the end and it wasn't. I trap less than a stock Cobra does and I have no problem running past STIs at speed. Still might lose a 1/4 mile drag if they nail a great launch and I simply don't have the room to reel it in before the end of the track but I will still be pulling hard on it.

A. ''at speed'' yes, That STi flew like a bat out of hell from the begining. Put such length on that guy, and as you can see they both were good drivers. I'd say that your so suprised by this because the majority of STi owners dont know how to drive.

B. The launch is what nailed the coffin, the cobra gained little by little on him till the end but he had such a perfect launch and was a good enough driver that there was nothing the Cobra could really do. All that power is great for show and tell but when it comes time to use it its a lot more difficult.

I would agree with all points minus the fact that I think they ran past a 1/4 mile and he wouldn't have been 'inching' on the STI..he would have started running past once they hit 80+mph...

Put it this way..the best I've seen from a stock STI is a 12.8 @ 101mph in stock form. ... a stock 2003 Cobra has gone 12.4 @ 113mph...to say both drivers were great is a bit of a stretch.

Well maybe the STi driver was better, but im sure some guy with a Cobra is going to know how to drive it .... unless hes 'that guy'...

Totally thought the sti jumped on the second race. But in slo mo it turns out the cobra needs a driver mod.

Same here with a bone stock 2010 SS M6. I blasted pass one at about 40-45. This was the last gen STI as well. Maybe with a great launch I couldn't catch up. Either that STI is modded or the cobra driver sucks.

Hmm I finally watched this video all the way thru. This is a street race I see now. That type of race will favor the Sub. Also the Cobra driver is heating up his tries like he is at a prep track. He obviously does not know that does not help him on the street.

Have to say regardless the Sub was pretty fast. Though looking at this vid I truly doubt if it was stock. I have raced my friends WRX STI at the track and I decimated it. Now true he needs to learn to drive a bit better, but I drove his car down a few times, I would say that the car in that vid has some help compared to how Doug's feel.

Yeah..that's where I am at...the STI won hands down...no problem with that... just can't believe it was stock considering a Cobra would be able to pull right past me with little difficultly and STIs stock don't pull at all on the top end. The roll race makes it very obvious IMHO.
