Value of complete engine tranny pullout?

I was wondering what the value of a 2010 ls3 with g6x3 cam and supporting mods hooked up to a tr6060 with ls7 clutch would be worth. It's from a totaled car so anything needed and undamaged could be included like ecu and all the wiring. What would all of that be worth?

I imagine the engine life would make a huge difference here. Also, the location of the accident on the vehicle would significantly affect the value of the engine. Front collision vs rear collision, as the front end force of an accident could affect internal engine components.

Well, since you currently have a 3 year old 6-banger, why don't you just trade up for a ZL1.

No I had an SS until Monday. That's the ls3 I'm wondering what's it's worth to compare to what the insurance people say the car is worth

Well, you asked. If I had a V6 and was thinking of doing a complete engine/tranny replacement to make it a V8... I'd just trade it in on a BIG V8 car (since you obviously want much more power).

No, I had a v6 and traded it for an SS a while back. I had an accident in the SS on Monday and I'm wondering what I could get for the drivetrain

Oh... I thought because your info under your avatar says "2011 RS", you have a V6 and want to pull engine/tranny from a V8 and replace your V6. Sorry.

Recommend you change that info to your current ride - it helps folks give advice, etc., and avoids confusion.

When asking for advice... nobody really cares what you used to have. No offense.

I never mentioned the one I used to have, you brought that up. I was just wondering about the SS

No, no... I just meant your User Name, the info under your avatar, and the info in the top part of your signature (even though it includes the word "sold") had me thinking your current car is a 2011 "RS" - which many people mistakenly use to identify their V6 Camaros. "RS" is a trim package, not a model identifier.

You really should fix all that to avoid confusion when asking for advice - that's all I'm saying. Your V6 is history... let it go. There's nothing you can tell us about your old car that can help us make recommendations for your current car. No offence intended. Just trying to help.

Well at this point both cars are history unfortunately...

Well, I have a car with a 7.5L V8, 455 bored 0.030" over, big deal heads, high lift split duration cam, roller rockers, cast aluminum tall valve covers for rocker clearance, head studs, aluminum dual plane intake 800 cfm carb, 9 way double roller, high performance fuel pump, oil pump, and timing cover with improved oil passages, 10:1 forged pistons, blah blah blah.

I look at that this way: what would I pay for that engine? There's easily 4 grand in parts, not even counting the block and crank and the 0 dollar value for balancing and machine work I had done. It's built right, by me, and that's worth 0 dollars too.

I wouldn't pay 4 grand for it if I was in the market. No way. I'd call it 50 cents on every dollar. It's used.

Didn't say I'd ask 2 grand for it, said I'd pay two grand for it. I'm not parting out the car.

It comes with the car and the parts and the manuals, and those aren't free, it's one of less that 3500 and its a convertible. 2K ain't gonna cut it.

Based on the info under his avatar, I'd guess it's a 1970 Buick. Probably a beastly Gran Sport.

See how helpful that info can be?
