The best Zl1 time was 1:58 to my 1:54, but this was their 1st time there, and i have too many laps there to count. So this cant be a fair comparison.

Hey Jenner, as i have had a few hrs since that last post to think. Unless this will be your only time(but that's like saying once you have sex you wont do it again )this might actually be a good thing, that way you can learn your point bye passing and wont have to be in the beginner group and can be that much further ahead, and really have fun.

Haha ok. Great example, but do you think it's worth the $150?

The 1LE right next to yours looks just like mine minus the Recaro's.

Personally for me no, but if you have the money i think it would be good for you. This would give you valuable experience so when you run the big track your good to go.

Then we will have to park next to each other at Miller and kinda like deja vu
Apparently there will also be a ZL1 there as well. The red one next to the black one is coming up with me, so now we are at 3 C5'rs already

Yea i hope i get there. How many runs at the track before i get to that level?? Do you move up a group every time out or does it depends on lap times. I'm a little limited on how fast i can go with my LT. I know i could do way better if i had a faster car. I should have my 1LE after a couple more time out so maybe by then i should be able to run with the Big Boys.

It's all up to you, you seemed to handle yourself pretty good. Next time run the next group, if you feel good then ask if you can try the next group up, they will move you.But that all depends on how you feel, if you find that you're not being help up then stay there. When i had my 2011 1LT/RS i was able to post a 2:08, and i have too many laps to there count, so the fastest group you could ever get to in a V6 would be black or purple. Now when you get your 1LE this will all change of course.

Yea for sure i want to move up to the next class in August. My fastest too was 2:11 but i think i could have got at least 2 more sec out of it if my rubber was better. Had a huge push going into 9. I'm going to have Nitto NT-01 next time out. See how that helps me out. Speed was there, i was running 122avg-127max going into 2 so i got the balls to hang it out there just need to get the stick in the corners. Any tips for turn 9 would be great. Saw in your video you were going way inside there, were everyone else was going out wide then cutting in on the apex. How'd you get that to work so good??

Yeah i dont understand why everyone goes the long way around the section of track. We all know the fastest way between point A and point B is a straight line. As far as advice going into 9, watch and study my line, and take it.There are usually 2 cones at the edge of the track aim for those, then turn in from about the middle of the track, and bam the apex is right there.

Count me in for the August 10 event. I've never done a track day that wasn't 1/4 mile so I'll essentially be a virgin. Anything I should bring other than a helmet? I have a stock 2014 SW 1LE.

Just bring the basics.

For most tracks you'll need to fill out a tech form lick this one:

http://www.speedventures.com/events/tech.pdf

Here's is a list of stuff you should bring but if you go with a group you can tag team so not one person has to bring everything:

Track Checklist
Note: Many of these things don't apply to a person in a street car, so don't worry about it if you don't have a neck brace, for instance.
Required
  • Helmet! - a very bad (and easy) thing to forget
  • Tech form - Important
  • Car Numbers – required on both sides of the car and rear, a minimum of eight inches high (we will have racer’s tape available at the track for this purpose)
  • Cotton or Nomex clothing ONLY. No leather or synthetics allowed.

Highly Recommended (not strictly required)
  • Tow hook installed or tow point established
  • Driving Suit or long sleeve cotton shirt and cotton pants (although we allow short sleeve shirts and shorts, it is highly discouraged and potentially harmful in the case of an accident)
  • Fire Extinguisher
  • Extra Brake pads
  • Brake fluid
  • Drinking Water (Speed Ventures provides water but just in case we run out…)
  • Engine Oil - bring a quart or two, just in case
  • Hat - for Sun
  • Sunglasses
  • Sun Screen
  • Folding chair

Optional
  • Duct tape
  • Distilled Water - Radiator
  • EZ-UP Canopy - Ideally there would be one for every 4 cars or so, because the sun can be brutal. Hopefully everyone who has one will bring one (and it makes you very popular too).
  • Windex - You will kill many bugs on your way to the track.
  • Brake Bleeder line
  • Racing Neck Brace
  • Racing shoes
  • Camera
  • Hose Clamps
  • Jack
  • Jack stands
  • Jumper Cables
  • Service manual
  • Torque wrench
  • Other tools (sockets, wrenches, pliers...)
  • Grease
  • Hand Soap
  • Ice chest
  • Map/directions/phone number of hotel
  • Map/directions/phone number of track
  • Paper Towels
  • Rags
  • Run Flat aerosol cans
  • Tie Wraps
  • Stopwatch
  • Race tires
  • Spare tire - you never know
  • Tire pump
  • Tire pressure gauge
  • Tire pyrometer
  • Flashlight
  • Funnel for oil
  • Gloves – disposable

For your 1st time all you need is a helmet, a motorcross helmet wont cut it. A 2005-2010 SA rated is what you should have. If you dont have one you can rent one, but if your like the rest of us and already know you will be hooked and do this over and over just buy one. You can get them cheap http://www.saferacer.com/bell-sport-...-racing-helmet
