Stick to the plan or keep it as it is?

If anyone read my last post you already know that I am custimizing a camaro for a new wheel and tire store I am starting Feb. 2010. Well, I ran into a little problem. Asanti sent me the wrong color combo on my wheels. The good people at Asanti are willing to pick up my wheels and make it right but I kind of like the way it looks, its just a little to common. I had a vision for this car and I would like to stick to the plan. What do you think?

Modds done-
Tint
blacked out tail lights, side marker lights
black bezzels
black and chrome ss plate
black defenderworx gas cap cover
chrome defenderworx bowties w\black outline
black camaro nameplates
black Asanti badge
custom Asanti door sills
Black 22" Asanti AF142 w/chrome lip/bolts
black ss badge
Vertical door inc. hindges
Hennessy intake

Modds intended-
Orange hood accents
Orange outline around all emblems, badges, bowties
Orange gills
Orange accents on wheels (see pic)
Black and orange ss plate
Factory ground effects kit-still waiting
Interior- black leather w\ orange suede accents
Exaust-Maginaflow or Borla catback exhaust with headders- undecided

Well, it looks good the way it is. But it does not "POP" or stand out in any way. So if your trying to get attention and stand out in a crowd of other modified cars, I would have them fix the rims.

Although blacked out tail lights look cool, I think they are a hazzard during the day in bright sun light because the brake lights are difficult to see. I've seen a few cars with covers on their tail lights that match the paint and I could hardly make out their brake lights! I can just see someone plowing into the back of those vehicles because they could see their brake lights!

The chrome lip makes the rim look cheap to me.. I'd go with the original, it looks sick!

While I like the orange rims way better than the ones they sent you with all due respect isn't the black and orange mods going to look like "Halloween" 365 days a year ? If that's the look you want go for it - just pointing out the obvious...

Three of my cars are black and chrome so I wanted to do something different. I thought black and orange would be a unique color combination. Also I did not want ANY chrome on the car. I'm not worried about the halloween thing. Hell, I'll name it halloween. TJD34 I was planning on doing stripes like yours.

Cool - just wanted to point out the obvious rather than have you later realize it - the color combination is awesome.

My hood spears are from ridergraphix, just make sure you get with them if you have any questions on the install - I needed to have my professional installer speak with them to ensure the install was correct.

The stripes will be painted on with the L99 emblem in the paint as well.

As it is right now, to me your car has a very cold and lifeless look. Needs some color so I would say definitely go with your original idea on the color scheme for the rims. The black outer rim will help reduce the visual size which to my eye is important; 22's just look too big like they're stuffed into the wheel wells.

For the back I'd remove the SS logos on either side of the license plate; looks too rice. Put one SS logo badge in place of the bowtie on the back and I'd paint the SS logo the same color as the orange on your rims.

Paint the mufflers black; they stick out too much and mess with the look.

It's hard to tell but it looks like you've added some kind of badge or emblem on the sides under the Camaro? Either paint that orange like the rims, or paint the CAMARO lettering orange. My choice would be paint the lettering.

You're going for a theme here so paint the front bowtie the same orange, or outline it in orange and paint the center black.

Those are my ideas. Good project so far though.

i think going with the orange would be best. make it stand out more. though i do think the kids license plate kinda kills a lot of the cool factor lol jmoh.

car looks great but more for your personal car...i agree with the other guy, that if its intention is to attract people to your new upcoming store then you need to make it stand out more...so i vote go with your original idea/vision...love the black out lights btw! i freaking hate the orange and red lights on the side of my car...im looking for some click ones know any1?

I think it looks good. Ive never beem a fan of black wheels but it actually looks good. I would leave the wheels like they are now. Just dont like the orange inserts on the wheels as much as the ones that are on it now. But heck do what makes you happy. If you got the money to get the orange wheels to. Yhat way you can change it up every so often. But yours is actually the 1st black wheels ive ever saw that I liked! I have always thought black wheels just look cheap but those really dont. Looks good! Whatever you do post some pics.

There ya go! More reason to keep it as it is, but add the performance mods intended as well as the ground effects. Maybe paint them CGM as well as a stripe in the same color? Looks cool! I like the 22" wheels too!!
