Exclamation High beams on Non-RS 1LE do not work

Hi guys n gals!

I haven't posed in a while, but recently a problem cropped up with my high beams. I own a 2013 1LE without the RS package or the Halo's, just regular headlights.

The problem I have is that the high beams do not turn on every time I use them. Sometimes they do, but 99% of the time they do not. When I try, all the lights go off, yet the info system tells me they're on with a blue light icon.

This is bothersome to me, especially when driving down country roads where there's no street lighting, which I have to do quite often. I'd like to see the road far ahead of me as to avoid hitting something.

Has anyone had this issue, and if so, can you tell me what I can do to fix that? Is it covered under warranty? I bought the car in December of 2012 as '13 model and have never had any issues until now.

I'd appreciate any help you can give.

B.

Take it in. It's covered under warranty.

I was thinking about that, but not sure if a dealer is trustworthy. I haven't been to one here in Pittsburgh, my car was bought in Texas, then I drove it up here, so not sure who to trust with my car. It's so frustrating.

I have a non-RS 2013 1LE and have never had a problem with my high beams (And I've switched bulbs several times.)

It could be an intermittently bad bulb. (Although 2 may be a stretch... I've had bulbs that are bad but will still light when they just happen to be making contact with broken filament) Or a bad contact at the base of the bulb itself... have you checked the connections to the high beam bulbs and bulbs?

Unless these cars have a bulb out warning... in which case, just ignore me.

But having no lights at all when your are in a situation where you need to use high beams sounds disconcerting. I'd check it out or get it checked out soon.

In my experience, bulbs do often burn out at approximately the same time. So I would check those before going bananas.
