THE WHITE PROTECTIVE WRAPS ON EXTERIOR OF A NEW CAMARO

If I left the exterior protective white wraps on my camaro for about a month in storage, would the adhesives damage the paint?

I might have to keep my Camaro in storage at the dealership for about a month if it arrives while I'm in the middle of Warrant Officer school, and my prospective dealer(I trust him) told me they could leave the int. ones on, but had to take off the ext. wraps because the adhesives will damage the paint, which I have a really hard time understanding how that is possible since it's put on at the factory.

I really really wanted to take everything off myself, but wondering if I should listen to him and just let the dealership take off the exterior ones.

If you want them left on, we'll leave them on - but I would highly recommend taking them off.

Did you ever see a VW that has 60% of the car wrapped at delivery? you can often see right where the plastic was because of a chemical reaction - it can be buffed out, but having to buff a new car is a crime in my book!

i used to work at 2 different VW dealerships as a porter...washing cars. used and new. the ones with the white plastic on the outside, we'd just take it off and wash the car. if you could still see a line where it was, it was just this glue type stuff that keeps the plastic on the car. a little bit of a gum off type substance (forgot what it's called, but you can find it at any pepboys or the like) and it's gone. wipe it down with a sponge and rinse and dry and it was all good.
