These are great for footwell lighting, grill lighting, trunk lighting, speaker boxes, etc.

Installation FAQ:

You simply connect the Red wire to any 12V power source and the Black wire to a ground. Then connect the white output wires to the CCFL tube via the included connector.

These strips can be mounted anywhere on the car including the grill, trunk, under the dash, under the seats, etc. We will concentrate on the footwells here.

First you will need to determine what power source you want to activate the tubes. In this case we will use a switch to turn them on/off. We will get the power for the switch from the fuse block in the driver side dash.

1) First locate the fuse panel cover

2) Then remove the fuse box cover

3) In this case we are going to tap our power off of the fuse box to power our switch:

Here is a quick tip for you guys doing the footwell lighting installation. We originally suggested to use an add-a-circuit but turns out that GM left an open circuit in the fuse panel for us to use

Using red female terminals you can make a quick jumper for a in-line fuse.

Attach a female terminal on the other end to tap the open circuit on the fuse panel.

Now you have 12V power ready to go

4) Switch Location
You can mount the switch wherever you wish, we chose to put it on the driver right side kick panel near the console.
This way it is out of sight but easily accessible to the driver.

5) Mounting the CCFL Tubes.
In this case we used the adhesive pads to contact under the dash and a small tie strap to add support in the middle so that the tube does not sag. You do NOT want to tighten this strap, simply use it for support. If you tighten it you run the risk of damaging or cracking the tube.

6) Your finished installation will look something like this:

Can these be wired to turn on with the interior lights (only on when the door is open)? How hard is that to do?

Yes, you can power them off of the dome light lead so that they come on with the interior lights.

I can make a DIY if this is something you guys are interested in.

YEP show us how man!! GM is supposed to offer something like this for the footwells so the hookups should be down there somewhere.

I want to order these but have them work off the dome light switch. Do you provide a wiring diagram for where to hook them up?

I'm going to order the LED conversion kit today and am considering the footwell lighting. How difficult of an install is it. DIY would be real helpful.

When you guys talk about the interior lights are you also referring to having them dimable too? I would think you would want to be able to dim them.

Yes i am also very interested in ordering the footwell lights.But i need to know what kind of installation is needed.If you can show us ahead of time tp prepare.Will they come on when the door is opened,are they going to be dimmable. Thanks for any info you can send us would be muchly appreciated.

If they are like the dome LED lights then they are not dimmable.

The footwell lighting is great! Justin can you post any pics of mine you did over the weekend? The lights are awesome too, they don't cause any night blindness as White light does. They were really nice on driving my car back home all night!
