Ambient Footwell Lighting: ORACLE CCFL Tubes ($35/Pair)

I may be missing something, but for the switch do you need to drill a hole in the console side? Also, how do you run the wires to the passenger side footwell lighting if it gets tapped into the fuse on the drivers side?

If you want to put the switch where pictured you will need to drill a hole. You can install the switch under the dash if you do not want to drill a hole.

I really think every car should have footwell lighting! it is a great accent at a very reasonable price!

I understand that it's the driver's side fuse box but what is plugging into the fuse slot? It appears to be the red wire coming from the power inverter but how does it plug into the slot?

Its called an add-a-circuit, it lets you add a circuit to your fuse box safely.
They are about $2 at any auto parts store.

Oh ok...I was looking at the parts supplied with the CCFL's and nothing looked like that. Makes total sense now. Thank you!

i have a black 2010 camaro with the inferno orange stripes and the inferno orange interior... in your opinion what color ccfls,led and halos would best go with this setup? the amber or the red.... thanks for your opinion......paul

I have the inferno orange interior and the red works so well. Everybody who sees them thinks that they came with the car. Let's face it...inferno orange ABL is more red than orange.

I have three questions if you don't mind,
1. which fuse did you tap into from the pic left to right 20,15,10,10,7.5,5
2.will tapping into the fuse work the same way as the dome light tap or will it always stay on and i have to use a switch
3.will using one inverter be ok to use with two lights.

I'm looking to buy two 15" Sections of Blue CCFL Tubing to do under each footwell in my IBM. Anybody know how long it will take me to connect these so they work with the dome light? Also, how do I install them to dome activate?

Tapping the fuse block is just to get the power, you will still need to use a switch to turn them on/off. The dome light does not have a fuse, it works off of a circuit breaker that automatically resets when you cycle the ignition. The dual inverter (2 outputs) is designed to power 2 tubes.

I installed mine and they come on automatically with the headlights. Everybody who rides in my car when they are on thinks they came from the factory. When I tell them that they're aftermarket, they say, "Ok, then it SHOULD'VE come from the factory."

They are not too bright when driving either. It's just a nice ambient glow. It's bright enough to notice but not bright enough to distract you.
