Z/28 Detail: pix of the "after"...

Just picked up my car from Jeff McGoveran of Immaculate Reflections (NorCal). He put CQuartz on my car, which I was initially leery of. However, Jeff is top-notch and he loves the stuff. I'm hoping this makes it easier for me to clean the clag marks off after track days. Jeff was jazzed about being one of the first guys to detail a Z/28, and took a ton of photos to post on the detail forums. Here are a few:

Beautiful, I don't know anything about the Cquartz, mine is getting the opti-coat this weekend. Should I look at the Cquartz?

I had my "Black" Land Rover detailed with Cquartz and I use it to go to the mountain bike trails so it see's it's fair share of dirt & mud and I will see this keeping it clean has been super easy.

Looks so killer.
I think the rear looks 1 million times better without the bowtie. Congrats!

Definitely. My detailer checked them both out in detail, and he believes the CQuartz is superior. If you go to my detailer's WEBSITE, you can find contact information. I'm sure he'd be glad to share his thoughts about why he chose to go with CQuartz...

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

The detailer removed it; he said he worked it slowly off with dental floss and it came off clean, leaving the adhesive behind. He then removed the adhesive residue with solvent, but I'm not sure which product he used...

Thanks for all the kind comments. I have to say I liked the silver before, but love it even more post-detail...

Dental Floss, a soft plastic scraper and Goo-gone was what I used on my Vehicles.

I used floss and my finger to get the remaining adhesive off. Easy peazy on a warm day.

Do you still have your N-Ring logo? I seem to recall it was missing in your latest pics...

My original intention on applying it was to recognize the fact the car spent time being tuned at the 'Ring. But the reality is that people were asking "you had this car at the 'Ring?"

So rather than go through the explanation and/or potentially be thought of as a poseur, I removed it

Bare rear at this moment.

Is it different than putting a Raiders sticker in the window when you've never played for the Raiders?

You can be a fan of something without being a poser.

If you have a Pontiac Bonneville, and never ran the salt, should you debadge it?

To each his own, I say. I've driven the Ring, but never driven it using my Z/28. I love the Ring and appreciate the fact that the Z/28 team used the Ring to tune the chassis on my car. The Ring sticker on the back of Zfat's car made me think he was emulating the test car that GM showed with the Ring sticker on the back, and sharing a little Ring love.

People are puzzled when I debadge my cars. In fact, the Z/28 is the only car where I haven't removed ALL of the factory names and badging. I may still remove the badges, because I like the clean look. Also, I don't need to impress anyone -- without the badges it's still a Z/28, and true enthusiasts will be able to tell what it is. Kinda the same thing as the Ring sticker, in reverse (I think); it's all about personal preference...
