Ipf S/c people!

I have a few questions.. What hp numbers can you get with just the s/c no other mods to it. What are your 0-60 times looking like? I just wanna be able to smoke my neighbors 13 5.0 haha.

What year is your car? I have an 11, LLT engine. With ONLY a plenum spacer and stopping the dyno pull at 6000RPM my car made 342HP at the wheels. If you follow the curve it would have been at 7200RPM (the red Line) more around 380HP at the wheels. I having long tube headers and a few other goodies being put on her now, Plus and new custom HPT tune from Redline in Pompano Beach Fl. If you have an LLT prob safe to estimate 350-360 WHP, if you have an LFX maybe 360-370WHP, but more can be made.

Sycraft has the IPF kit and is sitting around 410whp. It will be difficult to beat a 5.0. You need tires, power, maybe some suspension.

You can also put your car on a diet. Do away with anything that you do not need 100 lbs = about 1/10 sec on a qtr mile.

But the issue is not everyone can drive as well as you can...

You won't take him off the line if you both drive equally. But you should take the 5.0 pretty easily before the end of the quarter and be gone in the 1/2. Been there done that.
Again driver and tires really make a difference.

5.0 no problem, unless it has mods.....you will be traction limited.

You might beat the driver, but unlikely you'll be the 5.0 with a good driver. Stock 5.0s run 12's. In the right hands a stock 5.0 can run mid-12s. The average supercharged V6 Camaro, based on the fast list is only running 13.2... Even the fastest SC'd V6 Camaro is only 12.8...

Other thing i've noticed about the 5.0s is they are easier to drive at the track than a Camaro. I see the new 5.0 guy start out in the 13s, even upper 13s and after a few runs he's solidly in the 12s... Newbie SS guys start in the 14s and even after running all day only manage mid to maybe low 13s...

And heck, right now, my bolt-on V6 Mustang is running mid-13s... still have some work to do... but come Fall it should be running as fast as most of the SC'd V6 Camaros on the Fast List... and i'm on all season tires!

Scrming hits on the downfall of the IPF SC'd V6 Camaros thus far.....the low end punch and traction issues. The 5.0 has more of it...more low end, and more traction (and is lighter!!).

Even with more top end power, that makes for a hard combination to beat at the track.

That said, I've read numerous stories of IPF V6s walking SS and 5.0s while on the road (totally legal right?) lol...and these are all from credible forum members so I believe them. No reason not to believe it.

So scrming...just don't race an IPF V6 from a roll and you might be sitting pretty lol.

That is why you race them in the middle of summer, superchargers are affected as much as N/A. Gears will help the low end punch which is why I believe 3.91's will be a great upgrade for IPF Superchargers. I will have to do it and prove what they can do though.
