So how is GM getting any money from a used car? they all ready made their money when they sold it new.

It all trickles down or up. As used ones get bought, the supply goes down for used ones, so some will buy new one because of no used one they want. Remember indirectly they do. The more used cars sell the more new ones will sell.

I understand supply and demand, but wow, what a reach with that one. All I know is that GM will not get a dime of the op's money by buying a used car. Dealer will but not GM. They already made their money on that car.

Well, I'm officially a Turncoat.

Anthony Andrew Granatelli died last December. aka "Mr.500", an early hotrod pioneer and famous hotrodder.

The last car he bought was a Red 2010 ZR1 3ZR SN 00011. He only put 1752 miles on before passing away.

It has been stored in a museum setting, where many cars around it are serious megabuck, some 7 figure cars. They forbid me to take pictures of the cars, many owned by the rich and famous. It looks better than new and is all original.

I pick it up tomorrow or friday:

I'll end up with another Camaro again.

I might even try to "flip" the ZR1. It sold for market price of a used car. It looks better than showroom condition, and it has "history". Some collector might get interested.

Beautiful ZR1! I'd have bought one instead of my GTR if it had a back seat

You probably don't remember me, but I'm still a mod at LS2.com. Come back, man...we miss ya

Ok, I have to admit... SN 00011 is a pretty rare car then as well given the history of it.

That is a sweet looking ZR1 to be sure.

Twisted trivia? My 2500HD 4x4 GMC Sierra pickup is both faster and quicker than a ZR1. Top gear ran the ZR1 at Bonneville, and didn't come close.
So the ZR1 is fast, but not FAST.

Kind of like the whole Dodge Hellkitten thing. Everything is relative.

I'd take a ZR1 in a heartbeat over the Z28. Excellent choice!

HAHA!!!

The punchline?

The ZR1 almost killed me driving it home last night, and not in a good way.

One of the busiest freeways in the world is the 101 Fwy in Los Angeles.

During rush hour, I'm in the fast lane, stop and go traffic. There is no emergency lane.

The cars ahead come to abrupt stop, so I go to push in the clutch ...

And the pedal is gone. Can't find it. Hit the brakes and stall the car out. Put flashers on. Climb out of the car on the freeway to look under the dash. Pedal is stuck WAY up there. More than normal LSx stuck pedal. I pull it off the floor, but the clutch does not operate at all.

Climb into the car, put it in gear, and hit the starter, CHUG CHUG (love that torque), and it starts. I dive across 5 lanes of cars and make the next ramp, sometimes lower than 500 rpm in gear with no clutch.

I think, "everybody is thinking some rich ahole doesn't know how to drive!!". But I realize where I am, and relax. I'm in the heart of the highest density of "rich idiots who can't drive" in the world. It's probably a very common sight for them.
I end up in Studio City stranded. Once I turn the car off, it will not restart at all. No clutch signal.

So GM Roadside tows it to the dealer last night. I got to drive it a WHOLE 100 miles.

A lot of fun!

I'm thinking the car did not want to leave it's owner's side, like a faithful dog.

Next mod to put a picture of "Andy" in the glove box.

When you start the car, the DIC says ANDY.

Well, the "fun" comes with 10lb of titanium in my body, can't turn my neck more than 45 deg, hurt every morning, and 1/2 my hearing is gone. Been to the ER more than Tim Allen on Home Improvement.

And I would not trade it for anything.

When I think I made too many mistakes, I realize how many young men were mangled or killed serving our country, and consider myself very fortunate.
