I don't hate em. I love the cars, comfort, styling, decent power with good econ. I had an '06 when they first hit the market just like I am doind with the Camaro. I am a sucker for new things, the lates tand the greatest is my motto. But, I am a way bigger fan of American muscle. I just bought the civic because I got the money I wanted for my trade in on my stang and the Civic was the latest and greatest the year it came out.

BACKUP :

CIVIC : 197 horsepower at 7800 rpm and 139 lb-ft of torque at 6100 rpm.

CAMARO : 304 hp, 273 lb-ft at 5600 rpm

naturally if you could get the Camaro to 7800 rpm it would produce more hp and torque. regardless of the weight factor the Camaro has about 3 car lengths or maybe even more depending on what type of tires/rims you are sitting on.

Just being rough here but the Si is about a full second slower than the V6 to 60 mph, and in the 1/4... slalom and skidpad are about the same, braking distance is better in the Camaro, the Camaro's weight distribution is better, and (here's the funniest one) the Camaro has the same fuel cost as the Civic!

Well pretty close- but the Civic get 21/29 vs 17/29. Love the Camaro but got to be accurate there. Unless the civic is premium only-that would make the fuel costs the same.

Civic Si's are premium only and mine is quick but not fast. I have a CAi,high flow cats and exhuast. Never had it dynoed but its just not that fast. Its fun to drive. Might be fun to run it against a V6 but i would probably bet on the V6.

Stock SI is quick. There built that way. Fast ? Well not without a lot of help. V6 Camaro should take it.

What about this car. The G-Wiz. Tune it with more batteries and bigger tires and you can beat a Shelby Mustang.

Fuel economy advantage get soaked up by the increased cost of premium gas. And I thought thought it was 18/29 ... either way, thats bad for the civic to have several hundred pounds advantage in weight with an engine half the size making 2/3 the power ... getting the same highway economy, premium or not. All hail direct injection! (and silently acknowledge crazy overdrive ratios)
