Question about CTS-V 6 Piston Caliper Swap

I'm looking to upgrade my front calipers on my 14 SS 1LE to the CTS-V 6 piston calipers. I've seen a number of swaps on here, and I know there is a company that sells a kit as well. I've figured that I can put the kit together myself for less money. I've found raw calipers on rock auto for $150.00 each. I plan on powder coating the calipers red to match the rear caliper, so getting them in raw form seems to be a good idea. My question is has anyone else used theses A-1 Cardone Calipers?

Never seen a thread about these or anyone use them. If they are real brembo's it will be stamped brembo and made in Italy. Although I am sure there are fakes out there.

I got mine from amazon, if I knew about these I probably would of given these a shot.

As far as I know it's calipers, rotors, pads, CTSV brake lines, am I missing something?

That's a good point about the crossover tube. I can't tell if it comes with it or not. I have sent an email to Cardone tech support.

Auto Zone, Oriellys, and other auto part suppliers have the same rebuilt caliper. However they are an exchange only, you send yoursm rebuild them, and then send them back for that price-a little high for that. I got mine from Amazon you can find all three (red, yellow, silver) sets for half oem price - just be sure to use the AcDelco part number.

Rock Auto gives a price with and without the core. They are $150 each without the core.

They typically have crappy and cheap aftermarket seals and pistons and they last a lot shorter time span than original. I've never had great luck with parts store calipers for those reasons. For the minimal price difference I would buy new every time in this application.

The part # from Rock Auto is 185200, and I did hear back from Cardone, they do not come with the cross over tube. I also found out that I can not get that crossover tube as from Cadillac, it's only comes with the caliper.

Are you sure they have stock on these? When I was researching this mod earlier this year, there was no stock available.
I bought yellow calipers from Amazon for about $250 each and bead blasted and repainted.

It's looking like I'll be getting the Yellow calipers and have them redone in red. Those look great by the way!

Where did you get the Chevrolet/Brembo decal? Sizes?

They are StopTech slotted cryogenically treated rotors for the CTS-V from Tire Rack

E-Bay. I don't remember now who was selling them, but it's a regular company. A set comes with two each of three different sizes of Chevrolet and Brembo. Search the C5 threads for painting these calipers, that's how I found out about them.

When you get stainless steel lines, make sure you get the ZL1 kit and not the CTS-V kit. The rears won't fit if you get the CTS-V kit.

I found my calipers on ebay, rotors on brakerotorshop.com, lines/pads from tire rack. Sent the calipers to Mike the powdercoater and they look great.

I'm sorry but the brakes are not where you should go cheap for a mod. Especially if you drive hard or go to the track.
