soo... you are willing to spend 30-50K just to beat your cousin, why not borrow or buy one of your uncle's rides? Just out of curiosity, how old are you?

Im a newbie when it actually comes to mechanics but as far as driving high horsepower cars im a little more seasoned. My uncle has had several Hot rods around 700 to 800 hp power that i was fourtunate enough to drive.
The only dumb question is the unasked one.

Your welcome, keep me in mind when your ready to start moving forward, I will lay out a plan of attack that makes sense for your pocket book and your goals.

With the LS type of motors, 700 at the crank is doable without forged internals! The MOST important parts of the install are supplying adequate fuel AND getting the tune right!

If you mess up on one of these two things, you might want to take off those speed parts and get ready to warranty some engine pieces!

I know some Guys that have made over 700 RWHP on C5 Vettes and they lasted for over a year before making the decision to forge their motors! It can be done, but as stated above, it's not going to be cheap!

When you plan your budget, don't forget to factor in a new clutch, or trans work (depending if you have a manual or automatic), Definitely new rear tires, and probably a lot more supporting mods to boot!

FI isn't cheap and also when you add up your budget, add 10% more because it Rarely stays on target!

By the way, you should be able to Smoke his GT500 with 600 rwhp if he's got stock tires and you run drag radials! Practice your driving too because Many a race has been won by missed gears!

Good Luck and Please keep us posted on how it goes!

Ok i make about 7,000 a month im 19. Im not simply tring to beat my cousin ive already done that (not mustang vs. camaro) Im not spending 30,000 to 40,000 to beat my cousin im spending 30k to 40k to have a high horse power camaro. I dont have a budget on how much i want to spend, it just wont be all at once. And if it really cost around 30k why not just get it from hennessey? I would be asking my uncle all of this but he passed away about 4 months ago.

I think ive decided to forget about adding upgrades one at a time and just wait about a year and take it to Hennessey for all the upgrades is this a good idea?

all from texas-speed.com select 2010 camaro, engine and valvetrain and find these parts. will get you over 620rwhp(over 750 hp) then get a new era otr intake, arh lt headers, and slp loudmouth 1 or 2 axleback. then you will have 680+rwhp(over 825hp)!!!if you want to hit 1000hp get a maggie supercharger.

not a good idea to take it to hennesey.

also you will need new brakes.

TVS 2300 + blower cam + long tubes + free flowing exhaust + ported tbody @ 8+psi will get you there. It works in my vette. Don't see why it wouldn't work in a Camaro.

If you were going to do the upgrades one at a time, then you are wasting more money. Save up and get it all done at once. that way, all the little "bugs and snags" can be worked out. (LPE is a good company as well.)
GOOD LUCK!!
