Sorry Jeep

Well on the way home tonight I was literally being harassed by a owner of a jeep srt8, the driver kept trying to tempted me into a little go time. After about 5 miles on the highway I conceded and it turns out his srt8 jeep isnt as fast as he thought lol. hit it doing about 67 and instantly pulled on him 5 seconds later he was about 2 or 3 city blocks behind me. This particular stretch of highway ends at a dead end onto another major street, he gave me a nod then went left and I went right LOL, just thought I would share with everyone.

The Jeep only has a chance off the line, due to the AWD. With the power to weight ratio, they don't have much chance except from a standing start.

only dumb asses street race. Go where the real men and women are at the track. You'll get your pride handed to you once and a while.

Eh....its not like EVERYONE hasn't done it at least once in their life. What's that saying?? OH yea...let he who has not sinned cast the first stone.

Aside from this story being "illegal" on these forums, you've got nothing to complain about that you haven't done yourselves. If you say you've never street raced, I'd bet money you're lying. Besides that....going fast on the street by yourself is just as dangerous...as is speeding through traffic But wait...but none of you have done that either.

Either way...this thread should be locked now given the content.

I understand the urge to race on the highway. It makes sense. You're listening to loud music. The other guy is there, eagerly beating on his window. The problem is that there are enough accidents on the highway affecting ordinary drivers, and you're looking sideways while you drive at 75 mph.

Just keep it to the track. If it helps, stick a window sticker on the passenger side that indicates your favorite track so that these guys can meet you there sometime, or hand out cards asking someone to meet you at the track. Either way is a lot classier than the look that will be on your face when you win but nearly killed a family of 5 with your rolling rocket.

On a more automotive side, the track is the ideal place for racing. Would you rather race at a pace where the best car will tend to win or at a place where there are too many variables, including other drivers, keeping you from a fair win? If you win on the streets, it might not be because you're the better driver, and that means that the jackass who challenged you will have all of the excuses in the world for how you won. Plus, tracks don't have the potholes or turns that streets do in the city or on the highway. Would you want to hit a pothole at 90 mph? It won't be fun, I assure you.

Don't be stupid. Keep your racing to the track for the sake of those one the road and for the world of automotive sports.
