OH EM GEE!!! need some advice about tar on my car...

ok i just went to pick up my little cousins from camp and the place they are at just black top'd the entire parking lot...i drove over it slow as hell but it still splattered up on my back bumper and behind the front and rear tires on the sides of the car...they are lil specks and lil thing lines of tar...how do i go about getting the stuff off? im afraid to scrub it off myself nor do i even know what to use...any advice?

WD-40 can do it. Wal-Mart sells bug and tar remover. Just washing the car can remove with light scrubs. Also, I've removed a ton of tar with a clay bar, but that's not really necessary if there isn't much.

whew....thought i was stuck with the tar for life...i really dont have time to wash it right now...would it matter if i waited till the weekend? also that bug and tar remover stuff work good on bird shit? cuz i already scratched my car scrubbing bird shit off the car with a micro fiber mitt...but i guess there was some dirt on the mitt or the dried up bird shit itself scratched it

the sooner you remove it, the easier it will go away. anything you will use to remove it, will remove any wax on it.

Kero or diesel will work too, as will lighter fluid. None of these will damage paint, but will strip wax.

I removed 9 years of that stuff off of my Camry this spring. Claybar did not work. Gunk Tar and Bug remover did.

I sprayed it down let it sit and I also used soap and warm water on the sponge I had.

Stoner Tarminator or Wurth Clean Solve (both petroeum based) if you don't like the petro based stuff try Stoner XENIT. After you get the stuff of then spot was or hit it with a spray detailer/wax.
