It's Built and Headed North to Alaska!

Found out recently from the dealer that our baby was completed last week and is now headed north. This is the first vehicle we've purchased without first test driving it but this car is so awesome it's not even a concern. I do wish I had discovered this site prior to ordering. I think I would have elected not to have the sunroof (I'm 6'-1" and I've heard folks talk about the limited head room). Oh well, we'll deal with that. This site has been a real wealth of information! Our other baby is a 1971 Chevelle coup, 454SS (not numbers matching but have the build sheet). I've been a member of Team Chevelle for several years now. It's a great community of owners as well for those of you who own Chevelles. http://www.chevelles.com/

Anyway, ETA in Anchorage is the middle of September! Can't wait to drive it home to Kenai. That'll make it four Chevys in the family....2002 1500 Suburban, 2002 2500HD 4dr short bed, the Chevelle and the new addition...V8, RS 2SS automatic, Silver Ice Metallic with stripes.

Sorry for the long post.

Cheers,
Brad

Nice to see one going to Alaska. At least you will enjoy it before the winter comes. Congrats

Yeah, should be able to drive it until mid to late October. We usually have some snow on the ground by Halloween or shortly thereafter. Then it's into the garage until spring....:(

First one I purchased without a test drive, also - and no regrets!

Congrats!

AK_Camaro: Congrats and Enjoy (if the anticipation doesn't kill you first).

You live in Kenai, you lucky bastard! I went there for the first time this year, also Soldotna, for the halibut and (kinda tough cause it was May) King fishing (with Lee Young, if you know him, really great guy). You gotta take some epic highway pica with your Camaro and the AK mountainscape in the background, that would be spectacular!
