73F #230 L99 0-60 runs

Ok here is some more runs on a 73 degree morning. Tires are breaking loose and even turned on traction control and still spinning.

How are these times? 3 runs last one with traction control on.

I got 5.4, 5.5, 5.6

Only did each one twice but that is what I got on my super duper high speed high tech iPhone stopwatch.

Yeah I can not keep the tires from spinning. I tried but they still spin.

And guys something else I learned from GM guys. All the mags and even at the track you have the one foot rollout where that gets rid of some of the tire spin. So if that is how they do times for the cars then we are really probably looking at very low 5 or high 4's for my 0-60 times.

Ohhhhhhhhh, SNAP. I just thought of something. If I give myself about 20 or 30 ft. of rollout, I could be closer to the good times.

How are you launching? Are you just moving your right foot from the brake pedal and then mashing on the gas?

The guys who came down from GM told him how to do it. They said use two feet but don't brake stand. That's what he told me.

I use the stop watch on my phone. Pause the vid at the very last moment before it hits 1 mph and hit it the best you can when it hits 60. I usually do it 10-15 times to get a good Idea with my car.

im getting an average of around 5.4 to 5.5 for the 3 runs on my phone stopwatch... considering your not using 1 foot of roll out i think you my be getting low 5s, maybe high 4s but who knows...

you should try a few more runs wit 1 foot of rollout, record and post those to compare to two on a warm, but not hot.. nice day.... ill be looking foward to the roll out times

Using dynolicious on my blackberry storm

My stock l99 0-60 best was 5.28 with a 1/4 of 13.6

After a CAI and tune my best 0-60 was 4.47 with a 1/4 of 12.8 in slightly cooler temps with a passenger.

Dont take it for gospel, it came off my phone. But there is a pretty big difference in the car after the intake and tune. Especially the shifting.

But you now don't have a PT warranty.

CIA - Cold Air intake ($300.00 - $500.00) -realistically 10 - 15hp or so.

Brings more air into the engine -which increases HP. In theory the air would also be cooler, thus increasing HP even more..

GUYS I DONT MEAN ANY DIS-RESPECT .

IF THE CAMARO THAT I ORDERD RUNS LIKE THAT I WILL NOT BUY IT.

THIS CAR SHOULD DO 0-60 IN 4.6 AND 1/4 IN 13.0 EVEN IF THERE IS A 0.5 DIFFERENCE THAT IS HUGE I WOULD HAVE TO ADD A CHIP , CAI, AND PERFORMANCE MUFFLERS TO BE EVEN.

I KNOW SOME CAMAROS ARE QUICK BUT ALOT OF THEM ARE SLOW.
MY BROTHER BEAT ONE AT IRWINDALE SPPED WAY IN A 06 GT MUSTANG WITH CAI ONLY.

the camaro there was a 2ss rs l99 it ran a 1/8 9.5.

Ugh...I've been warning you guys for a long time...WHY did you buy the 6A and then bother racing them? You aren't changing the timings/ratios and averaging 5.4 sec/0-60? This I do not understand.

3 Cars by current count. And I've checked the warranty data. I think you will find a vast majority are satisfied with the L99.

You are apparently ok with that.

Its a Camaro SS. The majority of Camaro SS owners will be modding their cars as soon as they can. It's always been that way with Camaro's.
For many of us it's our hobby and we love it. It can actually be like an addiction.

And the majority of us (with the exception of a few newbies to the performance world) understand the issue with the PT warranty. But that's not going to stop us from doing what we love and having fun.

I have nothing against guys that want to keep their cars stock, but that just not for me and many of the other Camaro owners.
