Dealer Charging $2995.00 For Bumble Bee Stripes

As can be seen in this listing, the car has Bumble Bee stripes intalled and the dealer is charging $2995.00 for the add-on.

If anyone actually pays this they deserve to pay the additional $10k mark-up as well.

Where on earth would a dealership get the b*lls to try and charge $2995.00 for vinyl stripes?

Those are painted on stripes... look at the picture. They extend onto the fascia past the mailslot.

The vinyl stripes are only on the hood.

51K for a 36K vehicle is kinda high.. sounds like a dealer that will keep this one for a while. they better hope demand stays high for these cars..

Just because they are that style does not mean they are painted on - there are many companies selling vinyl Bumble Bee stripes now. And given the outrageous prices they are charging for the other add-ons, I am sure they are probably vinyl as well.

Not defending the mark up, but those stripes are painted pearl white. Looks like the shop did a great job. We will see if someone pays that much for it.

How much is the average markup on dealer-installed options anyway?

What's funny is that I bet a lot of people, myself included, would've paid $1500-1800 for proper factory-painted stripes. GM missed out on that boat though.

It says "Custom Stripes". To me, the dealer vinyl stripes aren't custom, which leads me to believe they're painted stripes.
