CAmaro vs 2010 Mustang 427r
So I was surfing ebay and found a brand new 427r 2010 mustang for 39995 +ttl. That is around the sticker price for the new camaro I am ordering right after deer season. The 427r says (I believe) 435hp from the s/c 4.6. It also has some other neat things to make it look a bit different from a normal mustang. What's everybody think??????

I personally really like these, i just have always thought they should put a 6 speed in them instead of the 5 speed.

Ya i don't quite get the 5 speed. In 2010 you would think that 6 speed would be standard in a performance car.
It seems like a good price for one of these. I found another one with an automatic, it was 1k more. |

mt says 3380 to 3550 for the 2010 mustang. Guessing this is 3700? (purely a guess)

Maybe I lean a little more towards the Chevy products - but it always seems that no matter if the Mustang has equal horsepower the Camaro always beats them out. Just like the 700hp Corvettes that are constantly beating the 1000hp Vipers and Supras.

The roushes actually are very good performers. If I was getting a mustang. the roush 427r would be my choice.

I think its pretty darn cool that you can order a factory hotrod like a Roush motored Mustang. Wish GM would have partnered with a famous tuner/engine builder over the years with a window sticker to match. I think its a pretty good buy on that car.
I still prefer the Camaro, but congrats to Ford |

![]() Seems some people have a hard time looking at anything but horsepower numbers... they forget things like torque, weight, gearing, aerodynamics, etc...

Problem is Zeus I do not think they will be 30k :(
The roushe brings some nice stuff to the table...upgraded brakes, suspension and their redesign S/C. There are some things I like and other things I do not like about their cars. They are a good buy if you can find one that is not overpriced beyond what it should be. This seems like a good fair deal. |

Does it actually have a 427 in it or is it another supercharged deal?

I love the Mustangs....but would personally wait till the spring when the new 6 speed 5.0 GT will be on the market...it will give the SS everything it can handle, IMO.

Naw, its a S/C deal. Its what they call that package. I think they have stage 1,2,3 and then 427, and I think another number....Cannot remember. Edit: Also I keep reading about having a 6 speed. I think a 6 speed is a little overrated. I mean, in all honesty, what will you ever use a 6 speed for except over over drive on the highway, or getting lower RPM's out of taller gears ? My Cobra had a 6 speed.....yeah it was fun for top speed on empty highways, but meh...that was about it. |

if i was goin ford for what ever reason i would have to go with a low mileage 03/04 cobra. u can get em for $25k they were underrated in power and weighs around 3500 lbs. 6 spd. then u can take the money u saved add a few bolt ons and a tune and it will have 450+ rwhp .

I would think the 2011 Mustangs will be starting in the $32-33K range, looking at the starting prices of the 2010's at $28,850 |

I think your right, to get one your going to pay way over MSRP... but id say msrp 31k-34k just to stay competative. The Mustang has always been advertised as cheap performance... no reason to shit on tradition now...

Although I think that the 2011 mustang will be badass, I think its gonna be heavier, and the coyote 5.0 won't respond as well to mods imo. I still think that a intake/tune 2010 is the closest you'll get to a camaro, as far as an even comparison goes.
