Anyone Waiting @ 1100 For Dealer To Get Allocations

For anyone that is waiting for thier dealer to get an allocation to be able to place your order you should seriously consider speaking to Camaro Scotty to see if he can locate you a dealer that has open and available allocations to place your order.

Being that production is really stepped up and moving along rapidly, there is no reason to be waiting months to have your order accepted. Unless you have a personal reason to only deal with the dealership that you have your order with, it would be wise to even just talk to Scotty, Anna or any of the other "Scotty Approved" dealers here to see if they can get your order moving along.

If you fear dealing with a distant dealer consider my case. I went to all the dealers in the NY, NJ area. When I was speaking to them they would only place an order for me at MSRP but none had allocations available until god knows when. Those that had inventory wanted a minimum of $5,000.00 over MSRP. Being that I feel it is unethical to employ such sales tactics, I decided to speak to Scotty to see what he could do for me. This was 8/10/09.

Scotty worked his magic and set me up with Anna at Sparta Chevy in Michigan. Not only did she place my order at MSRP, but she had open allocations going in on 8/13/09. Fast forward to today less than 2 weeks later, I am at 3300 and have my car scheduled for production on 9/07 -3 WEEKS FROM WHEN I PLACED MY ORDER. Not only this - but being that Sparta Chevy is right by the border - my car should arrive to them within a few days of shipping and will be available for delivery. In the end thanks to Scotty I might have a car within 4-5 weeks of ordering. THANKS SCOTTY !!

Now consider my case if you are patiently waiting for your order to be accepted. I have the patience of a 2 year old in a candy store - possibly you have patience of steel but if you are starting to run low on patience talk to Scotty - he even has up coming allocations of his own - so Scotty would be selling you the car !! There is no better person you could wish to deal with.

I ordered from a dealer that accepted the military discount, but I'm still at 1100. They have told me the reason it is taking so long is GM is not accepting orders made under MSRP until the ones sold at MSRP have been completed. Any truth to that?

This is a blatant lie - just for that you should refuse to do business with them. You have been waiting months already for nothing - they dont have allocations to place your order.

Talk to Scotty - I am sure he will have your order accepted in 2 weeks & honor every discount that you are entitled to.

For me I'm waiting it out, I have nothing but time on my hands being retired and all. Plus I believe very strongly in supporting my local economy, and buying else where doesn't show local support .... IMO ....

talwell...you are very well spoken and I appreciate the kind words posted here. It will be fun for me to watch your order go through the system. I check almost daily (time permitting, and now that cash for clunkers is done, time will permit!) the 10 orders I have in the system.

I too am like a kid in a candy store when it comes to these cars! How can we not be?!

I see the Victory Red 2SS/RS Auto was built yesterday. Anyone looking for one?

Thanks to Camaro Scotty too...you are a great guy!

Sorry to hear you are being screwed with by the local dealers. There are some shady things going on in the DC Metro area. Not sure who you are dealing with, but they have been placing orders to be able to sell over MSRP while they are holding off on yours. Definitely not good business. I hope you are able to get your deposit back and go to a dealer that is trust worthy.

My dealer has done the same - they swore up and down they had an allocation, however, I've been sitting at 1100 for almost a month and no one will give me answers. I just keep getting the same BS everytime I ask.

The guy that does the ordering at my dealership swears it'll only take 6-8 weeks total but I don't see how GM can possible make and ship a car to have it to me in less then a month when they haven't even accepted the order yet.

At this point I don't even care about my $1000 deposit, I just want my car in a decent time as promised when I ordered it. The only thing that sucks is I can't go to another dealership without another deposit and I don't have the money for that right now. :(

I can't stand the wait- especially when I'm waiting for nothing! How hard is it to just be honest about the allocations? I mean, for those who don't mind the wait the dealers will still make money - but I can't see the logic behind lying so badly and losing out on 30k or more b/c of it! Yeah they get to keep the deposits, but is that one grand really worth lying for when they could be up front and make alot more for actually SELLING the CAR?
If I didn't love this car so much I'd give up entirely. I have no idea what to do...

It all depends on how many orders they have waiting.

If you want to take a trip to Wisconsin, I think the experience would be much more enjoyable!

Sadly I do not have $$ to go to WI either or I'd be there in an instant! I've even checked local dealer inventories to find something even close to what I want and within my price range but got nothing. :(

If I could do the out of state thing I totally would but unfortunatley this car is going to be a bank buster (but well, well worth it if it ever comes) for me. I can't add on the expense of having to take a trip to go pick it up! Though...I am getting close to selling a kidney to do it....

I just hate the idea of having to re-order and wait another 6-8 weeks! Ahh...why the Universe does not want me to have this car I will never know!!

The thing is too - they have 3 other orders that were ut through - when I don't know - but they had originally given me the wrong order # and that car had a TPW of 9/14....so...why mine is MIA still I don't know...and I don't think those were other special order cars either...

Well I am about to throw in the towel on my Camaro order. Not sure how I will get my deposit back, thankfully it was only $750. I ordered on April 11, 2009, and the dealer said that they had allocations, so I placed the order, put down the deposit and the Sales Manager and I signed the sales contract, alas, the delivery promise of 6-8 weeks was not in writing, just the details of the car, the trade-in, and the cash due on delivery, I am paying cash.

Well 8 weeks go by I get no status from the dealer, not even getting my calls returned so I went to GM Customer Service for help, that is when I learned about the infamous "Workbench Order Number".

It took 4 months to get that order number NMXW85 (August 12 GM Customer Service called me with it.) I get the number to The Viz and find out my status is 3000 with a TPW of 9/7, so while I was not real happy about it, I figured I was out of the woods and things would start rolling.

As of last Wednesday I was at 3000 - TPW 9/7, then today I post to The Viz and find out I am still at 3000 but my TPW has changed to 9/21, out further than any update he posted today!

At this point I don't know what to do, I get the idea there may still be more about this order process I am not aware of and for all I know my order may be in some kind of indefinite holding status at 3000.

I know for a fact I can go drive my second choice off the lot this weekend but after being a GM owner for over 25 years now I really don't want to change brands, not sure if I will have a choice though, I can't wait forever.

Thanks for your tip! I sure hope something works out.

PS -- I am not even looknig for a discount MSRP is fine, I do want to trade in my Grand Prix, and have the cash to just pay for the car so no finance issues.

ALLOCATIONS? I've got 1 open for 9/3/09, 2 open for 9/10/09 and 1 open for 9/17/09. We are in Delaware, next to 95. PM me and we can discuss details if you are interested. NY, MD, NJ and other tags are not an issue.

I am in DC and tired of waiting at 1100 status. I ordered 8/5 and the dealer said he had an allocation for my car! If he had an avaialble allocation I would not still be at 1100 three weeks later! They told me I would have my car in 8 weeks from the time I ordered and I don't think it's possible at the rate I am going.

With that said if I come to you and place my order when do I get my car? And is this timing guranteed? My order is at MSRP with CU discount for supplier pricing. Can you do this pricing?

Let me know I'm very interested.
