Guys and Gals just got back from MTI racing in Marietta, GA and had them install there new custom designed shifter. It opened up a whole new world for this car. Everyone with the 6m understands what I mean when I talk of how sloppy the factory shifter feels. Well those days are gone now. I am final able to find reverse in this car. Reduce shift pattern helps alot in those fast redline shifts. I really think this mod is by far the best I have done so far. The Shop at MTI is very professional and clean. Staff were extremely nice and very smart when it comes to GM performance. They have been designing products for the camaros before they even came out. Well there shifter gets a A+ from me. Thanks again Chris

I'd like to hear some feedback regarding the new MTI shifter vs. Hurst vs. Henessey RIPshift. I'm ready to buy a short throw and want the shortest throw and shortest stick out there.
Glad to hear you like the MTI. Can you elaborate more on it? Is the stick stock height?

Well the MTI is the same height as the stock shifter. Go to the web site to see a side by side comparison. www.mtiracing.com It feels a hell of lot better than the stock shifter did. Placement in gears is certain. Shorter throw. Solid feel Im very pleased

Looks like 25 percent shorter throws and the transmission need to be lowered for installation. Shift knob looks good but it def. doesn't look like an easy diy project.

![]() Thanks Jeremy for your feedback and review post on the shifter. Look forward to seeing you at the track Oct. 4th if not before that. Happy to hear that you are enjoying driving the car more. I truly think the shifter is the best upgrade for the new Camaro even though it doesn't add more hp. To all the members wanting more information and pictures of the shifter being discussed in this thread here is my attempt to cover any possible questions. The installation takes about 2.5hrs. It is required to lower the transmission so you can remove the shifter assembly. The shifter assembly is connected to the top of the transmission through the two forks and the shifting rod. The other hardware is accessible from inside the car and is under the plastic cover around the shifter. The shifter itself must come out from under the car. No way around it. The only removal of parts on the car is that of the center exhaust post cats and the heat shield separating the exhaust from the transmission. I have included some photos of an install. The shifter kit comes with a set of instructions with pictures to help if you or a friend are going to install it yourself or MTI Racing can install it for you. The shifter kit costs $374 and install at MTI Racing is $225. For more information and pictures please visit the link below. Thank you all for your interest in our product. Thanks again guys for the great shifter. I am again saying this has helped out so much. With this shifter I can now feel the power and controll the shifts to a exact point. Oh yea you get somemore of those awesome red plug wires in yet. I got to get a set to set this engine off.
