Sorry to use the 1%, but I checked his profile and he has a manual 6 speed. I was thinking he did because 380HP would have been absolutely insane on the automatic with just the Vararam.

Im not telling you anything... im merely trying to understand the point that you're trying to make.

You seem to be insinuating that by leaving the hood down it will increase the performance of the intake on the dyno. I disagree, I stated that and why I disagreed and your response is.. "dont tell me what it do's or dos not do."??

That makes even less sense!

Im currently #7 on the list. I've been patiently waiting for my intake, but im not sure if I want to spring the cash for it at the moment. 1: im not 100% sure im comfortable with the way the radiator will "rest" against the intake rather than being bolted down at the top. And 2: I find it somewhat frustrating that there's no dyno numbers for this intake yet, and not even a price and we've been waiting for months for the Vararam guys to complete their data logging and trying different combinations....

On one hand, it's pretty comforting to know that there's that degree of dedication and attention to detail involved in the product... But on the other hand, it's disconcerting to have a "beta tester" posting dyno results from 2 different dyno's that are not even the same type, and then claim 40hp gain from the intake. With no dyno results from the manufacturer... we're left to squabble over the proper means to get the true "before and after" results of the intake.

The intake seems to be of the utmost quality and performance level... but the time frame it's taken to come to this point has been excessive I feel... And... did I mention we still dont have a PRICE!

Im going to hold out for a couple more weeks, and then im going to start shopping elsewhere. Im not knocking the product or the engineering process used here... But the way that it's been gone about in just about every other way I feel is a bit ridiculous.

Sorry for the hijack... back on topic

Opps me bad, I got his car and the Vararam in house car backwards. I have been talked to about that car also.

All this beating up the beta tester crap is really offensive to read. He's not an engineer, he didn't design the thing, he's just TESTING it and reporting back what he finds as he finds it. Just take that for what it's worth and stop attacking the guy because he isn't publishing the be-all end-all absolute final OMG numbers for this thing. Let Vararam do that when the unit is finished and they've got a production model to test. Sheesh!

Seriously, let it go.

IMO, we are lucky to have someone who has gotten the unit, installed it, TAKEN PICTURES OF IT FOR US, and then reported back to us on what it can do. Shoot...he doesn't even get to keep it. He has to send it back. So why is he doing this? ....................

I agree that in order for correct calculations to be made, they need to be made on the same dyno and under exact weather conditions. But, I'm not here to give HIM a hard time about this.

Again, let Vararam do this. And, they have already claimed 3/10th of a second ET in the 1/4 and up to a half second in the 60ft times or your money back.

Sit back...relax...wait for the results.

I'm waiting too. Like a WHOLE lot of us. And I don't even know price or final numbers. Don't worry.... If it comes out and it isn't everything you wanted, you can look at it this way.... You have given yourself ample opportunity to check out ALL of the offered CAI's and you would then know which one would be best for you.

I've got no problem in standing by....just like I"m doing for wheels (if they turn out to be exactly like I wanted).

While I agree that you can not compare two different dyno #'s, that is all he could provide and it is up to the reader to make their own conclusions. Berating the poster is, well, rude.
The air flow over a closed vs raised hood is better left to someone who could explain the dynamics and the vortices of airflow.
And finally, there shouldn't be a need for a Mod to come to this thread and have to remind everyone that were are adults. As we sit behind our monitors, maybe we should think we are speaking face to face to someone instead it being so impersonal before we hit POST.

We agree!!! We appreciate help in "field testing" the new unit to help ensure that when we go to full production we give you all the high quality and high performance you are looking for!!!!! Also all the units we ship come with our Performance Guarantee - "If you don't like it - If you don't love it - If it does not perform the way we say it will - We will gladly take it back and pay the shipping both ways!!!!"

I work in design and development and know nothing is cast in concrete for material and associated cost until the product is released. Working on a moving target is unpredictable to say the least. It's difficult to estimate cost when material and processes are not finalized.

I haven't decided on what CAI I'm going to order but understand the limited information. It's rare for end users (non-resellers) to get any information on products under development. Feel fortunate for the developers on this site who share information while the product is under development.

My 2 cents

I have the dyno of my L99 before tune and after, I spoke to Brian Herter (PCMFORLESS) who did tune and told him that car is much faster after fuse pull (one hour), we will test current HP on same dyno before I put in Veraram intake (yes, I will dive it for a few hours before retest, but that same day) and see what the CAI gets, I am #73 on list.
Reaction on this site will be????
Fuse pull feels better than tune which gained me 21 HP and 42 ft.lb torque, am at 327/ 342 now, but after fuse pull would guess.................no matter what I say, no one will believe until I run dyno, could I be 375 hp/ 375 torque? Veraram get me my intake and I will find out.
