Everyones tunes have to deal with torque managment or you won't feel the extra power, in fact most of what you feel is torque managment reductions.

I don't think you will be able to make changes to it your self though.

I have/had a predator for the Dodge Charger. When it first came out it did NOT allow you to adjust the torque management. But in upgrades to the tunes your were able to in predetermined steps.

OK - VERY interesting and TIMELY thread here! I just picked up my 2SS/RS after adding CAI, and ARH long tube setup, retaining stock mufflers.. Sure enough, CheckEngine popped after 100 or so miles...

So now you have me totally paranoid that I won't clear State emissions tests when the time comes? And to the content of this thread, I'm looking closely at some sort of tuning device to A) get CheckEngine reset/off; B) get a proper tune on the car that matches the CAI/ARH combo; and, C) keep it emissions legal.

As I understand it the ARH setup included all needed pieces (CATS) to allow me to stay legal... what do *I* need to do here?

Oh, BTW! The CAI/ARH combo is freaking awesome! Also awesome: Hurst short throw billet shifter (ordered direct from Hurst)!

How many different mods does this unit have to add horsepower, and can it make the L99's run on 8 cylinders all of the time

Icntdrv55 -- no, you can not adjust anything in the tranny settings yet - tcm support is not available at this point, but it is being worked on... torque management is reduced/removed on the engine-side of the tune though...

YouEnvyMySS -- correct - you will not pass emissions with the CEL on due to rear O2 and/or CAT trouble codes being thrown. with a predator or trinity, you will need to get a custom tune created in order to have the trouble codes disabled, since the functionality to do it yourself via the handheld tools was removed due to EPA regulations.

2010 SSRS -- you get the choice of a 93 octane performance tune, or a 91 octane performance tune. Yes, you can disable the DOD/AFM so it runs on all 8 cylinders all the time. Parameters you can adjust yourself via the predator/trinity include:

COT time delay
#
DoD disable
#
Idle RPM Drive/Neutral
#
Injector Slope adjustment
#
WOT Fuel 2k-3.8k / 4k-4.9k / 5k-7k
#
Rev Limit
#
WOT Spark (in degrees) 1k-3.8k / 4k-5k / 5.2k-7k
#
Fan adjustment, individual adjustment per temp dependent cell
#
Tire Size
#
Speed limit(truck/SUV only)
#
Read/Write time is approx 60 seconds
#
Clear codes supported
#
Live data and log supported
#
Holds up to 5 custom tunes & Dat viewer is supported.

heh...

but doesn't even compare to the diablo predator as far as adjustability, tune performance, flexibility with custom tunes, etc etc.

as long as you restore the original backup stock tune to the vehicle before taking it in for any service/warranty work, there will be no issues...

there is no trace left on the ecm that it was ever touched/tuned....

there are no counters, flash counts, etc etc that get touched/changed by the predator/trinity, so there are no issues to be concerned with...

but, like I said, you have to restore the original backup stock tune to the vehicle first, before you take it in...

Have they added AFM delete for Diablosport CMR folks yet? Never used Diablosport but have seen it in action. Lots of great changes in the past 24 months with their software. I sell Superchips handheld tuners. Personally write custom tunes with Hp Tuners Suite and SCT for other manufacturers.

yes... the DOD/AFM has been available in it for a while... along with other additional new parameters they've added in recent months...

and the AFM/DOD disable is also available as a user-adjustable parameter in the predator/trinity canned tunes as well... without having to get a custom tune, users can enable/disable it themselves via the handheld's modify tune option...

Nice!

So where is the torque management adjustment people are requesting?

well, torque management on the engine-side of things is reduced/disabled in the tunes, and can be further reduced or changed in a custom tune via the CMR software...

but what a lot of people are waiting for is the ability to make adjustments to the tranny... the tranny's torque management settings, shift points, shift firmness, shift speed, etc etc.

there is no TCM support for some 2006 cars yet (monte, impala, gxp, gto's, etc), nor for any 2007+ GM vehicle....

some 2006 vehicles and prior to 2006 have tranny support already, because they have a single PCM to control both the engine and the tranny... but starting with some 2006 vehicles, and all 2007+, GM went to a separate ECM and TCM modules for engine/tranny management... and right now, there is no TCM support... no ability to communicate with the TCM module to make any tranny adjustments....

so, that's what people are waiting for... to be able to reduce/disable the tranny's torque managment, and to be able to adjust the other tranny parameters...

which is on the to-do list...

right now they're adding support to the trinity for 7191 predator vehicles (which includes 06 monte ss, impala ss, gxp's, trailblazer ss... 05-06 gto's, and 05 vettes)...

then it's on to TCM support for 7194 vehicles (which includes a BUNCH of 07-09 trucks, 06 vettes, and the '10 camaro)....

and then it's on to TCM support for 7191 vehicles (which includes my car, and the rest of the list I mentioned above, heh)...

Thanks for being the ONE that brings that up in every thread about tuning or mods. With as many threads about this out there, there's no need to keep rehashing it.
