its wasn't bad at all - removing the bumper
Although pay attention to what screw you are taking out...if its painted it doesn't need to come out to get the bumber off...........

need help with changing orginal headlights to halos

needd help with headlights
i bout the 2010 camaro 2ss and i didnt get the rs package on it and i started to have the dealership add it on to make it an 2SSRS and i have the basic headlights, no halos, so i went n bout all the stuff to buy the halos. i had to buy a new wireing harness and the two different dealerships tried putting them in and they say they need a BCM code to recognise the HID HALOS and they have been trying to make one...is there anything else i can do to get this code or to get these lights fixed. i paid over $2,000 to have this stuff done and they couldnt do it. soo any help would be great. thanks

My advise would be to return those and get your $2000 back. Order our Halo Kit for $169 (save yourself $1,831) and enjoy a more brilliant ring that does not require a BCM code to operate.

From here on in there are pretty detailed instructions from Oracle, you heat up the oven to 230( i heated mine up to 275 after a couple of rounds at 230) and stick a headlight in there, i suppose a heat gun would have worked just as well but i decided to follow instructions. Put it in there for 20 mins and the pop the tabs on the headlight lens and get a screw driver up under the lens with the plastic still soft. This was far easier said then done. It took me a lot of tries at 275, you have to push one side down pretty far to get the screw driver under there. Once the first edge is up it is pretty simple but i still reheated it several times after the first edge was up to aid in the process. After thats done you take out the old halo and install the new LED halo. You epoxy it in the housing, and i snipped the old halo wiring and connected it to the new ones to make it an easy fit back to the power wires. After the new halos are in its time to put your lenses back on your headlight. You use black silicon around the edges of the housing and then put the lens back on and hold it in place with vice grips for a reccommended 3-4 hours. Mine are an hour and a half into the silicon drying time. I hooked the lights up to test them before i sealed the lenses again and it is a pretty sight. I cant wait till they dry and i can see them at night. On to the fog light halos

bumper removal

Can anyone help me out? I can't find the proper bolts to remove to get the bumper cover off. I removed three bolts around the amber signal light including a painted one. The DIY talks about a star bolt that you remove at this point, but I cannot find it for the life of me. Anyone with FHE know where to look?

*edit

The term "star bolt" was throwing me off. I was looking for a torx fastener. Didn't realize that it was a six sided hex bolt I was supposed to be looking for. Can you update your DIY to reflect this please?

Yes, I removed the bumper to do mine. Because I wired them to the side marks so if I needed to remove the bumper I didn't have to unhook wiring. Plus, I installed HID's in my fog lights and screwed the ballast to the botttominside of the bumper.

So who wants to be a rockstar and do a nice colorfuly write up on how to correctly wire up a RS car so we can manually turn on fogs with hi and low beams with a auxillary switch?

I'm sure alot of people would love this information.

It would be a great sticky for somebody who knows and can illustrate it in something really easy like paint. lmao

Thanks and great looking rig,
Ivan

Yes, in that case you just wire these to your parking lights

Just connect red and black to your sidemarkers to enable the parking light halos.

do you have to cut the lense off the fog light to put the halo ring in? There is no other way of doing it?

cant you just tap into the bottom fog light power? Inside the car you just push the button once and it turns on the bottom fog lights. That is how i want all 4 halos to turn on. I want it that way or to be on as the daytime running lights then it switch to regular lights at night.

Most people connect the power to the parking lights so all 4 halos act similar to the factory halos. You have some control with the factory headlight switch.

You can also add a toggle switch or remote control as well.

if i wire to the parking lights what will turn the halos on and off? on a non RS camaro you can turn the bottom fog lights on with just pushing in. I guess the simple way would be to tap into that and remove the fog light so it does not overpower the halo color.

I guess I could do it with a switch but i want it to turn off with power so i dont leave em on
