finance calculator

hey guys, does anyone know of a finance calculator i could use to determine how much a month i would pay on my future 1LT camaro? ive been trying to factor in how much i would make a month working minimum wage (jobless at the moment), and im trying to find a down payment number that would equate to me paying around $200 a month...any help would be greatly appreciated

go to bankrate.com, they have one for home and auto. You need to make assumptions of a down payment and interest rates

Completely off topic here, but as a parent and a responsible, productive adult...this post make me sick. I could go on and on but I'll sum it up by saying: Dude, you're 18...an ADULT....act like one and get off mommas tit.

1. No if she ever really wanted you out of her house all she'd have to say is "You're an adult, GTFO now!" and you'd be gone. You better never forget that at 18 you are now a guest in your mommas house.

2. If I was her, I'd agree that yeah you do need a car to get a job and get established. However, you sure as hell don't need a $24k car to get back and forth to work. A $12k Kia will do the same thing till you can get grow up and a real damn job. Or even better than that, an ugly but reliable clunker that you can pay cash for...

well maybe you should try something in your budget until you get that far along. don't mess up your finances and credit before you even have any. i can almost guarantee you will reget it down the road.

You will need to be financing no more than 10,000, to get a 200 dollar payment. And you will have to make atleast 1500 a month or banks probably won't let you go as high as 200 a month.

18, living at home, working minimum wage? Sorry bud, you really don't need a Camaro, unless it's an older generation one that you can use to get you back and forth to work and school. It's not what you want to hear but based on what you've told us, it's the truth.

Sorry dude, when I was your age I was in the same hole. Forget about a Camaro for now! Unemployed? No bank will touch you right now, plus have you any idea how much your insurance will cost? You need to worry about going to college and get a good job that pays way better than min-wage. Get your mom to help you with that instead, that is way more important! I know this isn't what you want to hear, and everyone is crushing your dream. You will be better off in the long run and get something nicer than a 1LT anyway.

Thats the other thing. I had a paid for '94 V6 Camaro with 100k miles @ age 18 with liability only and it was running me $150/month, only slightly less than I'm gonna pay for full coverage on my truck, my wifes malibu and my 2SS when I get it. God only knows what you'd pay for full coverage on a brand new one...

I know it's seems that everyone here is busting your a$$ right now, but all we're trying to do is get you headed in the right direction so you can deal with your life ahead. Please consider what I'm about to say and don't take it the wrong way, I'm really trying to help.

At 18, although I know you would love to have a new Camaro, you need to work your way up to it. I suggest that you get $2,000 or $3,000 together and buy a 7-8 year old car that's good on gas. Take the $24,000 you'd be spending for the Camaro and get into a state college, which should maybe cost you 7k-8k for a whole year. (now you only have to worry about paying for your senior year) You will graduate with a degree, and hopefully get a decent paying job. Once you get the job, then build up your credit....make sure if you take out any loans or have a credit cards that you make EVERY payment on time! Work 2 jobs if you have to, just to keep your head above water.

I know it seems like forever, but it's only 4-5 years...it will go really quick, paticularly if you have goals set. (Your own apt. or even a small house and that new Camaro) Once your established, degree, decent job and your own place, then think about if you can afford that new Camaro.

I know I probably sound like an old fart to you (I'm 58 with 5 boys, the youngest is 24) but believe me, you will thank me 20 years from now. You won't get anywhere in life without an education. You will never be able to afford anything or ever move out of mom's house with a minimum paying job. If you want to get married, have kids, and afford the nicer things in life you need to get an education...first priority! I worked 2 jobs, one part-time until I was 40. But it was worth it! I can now enjoy life and have fun! I have a new Harley, I've got a '67 Camaro Convertible, a couple of trucks, the new camaro, a 4 bedroom house, a loving wife and 5 boys that thank me all the time for pointing them in the right direction. ( I know it sounds like I'm bragging but I'm not, I just want to show you what's available with some hard work.) I worked my a$$ off for everything I have.

Sorry for the lecture, but I'd love to see you make the right choices earlier in your life...they WILL pay off for you when you get older.
