Wife wants one.....

.....and I do too. I've been buying new Chevys for 30+ years. For the last 10+ years, I've been paying right around invoice. Usually pay cash. I'm ready to buy, but I don't HAVE to. No way am I going to pay these type of prices. The salesman that I've been doing business with for years had his large dealship shut down recently. He's with another smaller/much stronger dealership. He thinks things will be a little less nuts after Christmas. Are there any signs of things getting back to more of a normal market? I'd love to surprise my bride of 25+ years with a new red SS for Christmas......but I can wait and so can she.

Please, I know this has been discussed, but I also know this is a dynamic market and things change on a daily basis. If all you have to add is "use the search button", please find another thread on which to weigh in.

To any dealer types: Have cash, will travel for a good deal.

The dealer I am working with told me that prices will be lower come Nov/Dec/Jan

I am planning on ordering mine for Christmas or New Years. And picking her up for my birthday. Not driving her til spring either way. Not around here in the snow etc. Nope.

Invoice Pricing on a Camaro is about 1500 less than sticker. Not a huge difference. I have some allocations coming up if intersting on placing order. We have sold around 30 of them an every one has been at sticker price. 10 of them have been my customers. Sold a couple forum members here to.

Thought you were full of hooey with that 1500 quote between sticker and invoice. GM must have changed their pricing structure/holdback/dealer rebates. Checked with Edmunds and you weren't far off. 1500 would probably be right on the money for a base model. Unfortunately, I don't have a "base" wife (actaully love the fact she has some nice "options"). More like 2g difference with taxes for what she wants. If a red SS/RS auto shows up, with no buyer attached, and you're willing to sell it at invoice, please advise. I know my way around S Texas pretty good. I can be there quick. Her birthday is in April. I can wait.

Well, the prices WERE expected to go down, but since the SS production is early cut in HALF, I doubt it. You can also wait - but I'd also be willing to bet a $800 - $1500 price INCREASE will be coming the 1st of the year. Happened on Malibu, and Traverse. Just seems to be the trend. GOOD NEWS is, you order BEFORE the price increase, you are price protected.

The pool of folks willing to overpay is bound to dry up soon. If the Detroit boys continue to ask for more money, I'll continue to hold on to mine....I bought a new Z28 in 1977. That's the last new Camaro that I've paid for. Guess I can wait a while longer.

I bought , because the wife wanted one and gave her the push more like "ok" that she was looking for to buy. I ordered at MSRP and looks like with price increases and such got a good deal at MSRP. I don't seen the market cooling until late next year on this car still to new and to few, but the supply is closing on the demand.

Late next year....then a few short months later, the convertible rolls out, and based on my lists, with almost the same demand as the coupe...Now, pump out LOTS of VERTS....down the same line......makes it a little hard to make coupes, don't you think?

From what I've read here and elsewhere, you got a hell of a deal.

Just pure speculation on my part you have to look at all the variables, but the based off other models like the Challenger and such 1.5 years seems to be the norm. Market recovery and such some have used their extra on the cash for clunkers. I don't seen any big changes for next year and alot of people I have spoken with are holding back just in case of the unknown. Like I said I'm no expert, but just a thought.

Scotty is right. It looks like there is going to be an increase in all vehicles come the first of the year. Scotty you hear about the 3/4 ton diesels? 4-7K price increase because they putting in some special filter

I have a 2SSRS in Florida new that I can sell at Supplier if you qualify with a credit union or a supplier company. We sell the 2LT's a lot faster here.

Please send PM with details. I'm in a credit union now. Will be flying in to Ft. Myers in a few weeks on a fishing trip.

Make that all 2011 3/4 and 1 ton. They are going to a Urea based system.

I have immediate allocation for V6 orders, msrp, all discounts honored, and we don't add "paint protection, glass etching, etc etc" as add ons WITHOUT the customers consent.

And you can take some non-happy cow cheese home (no growth hormones)

Dealer that's fairly close has one just like she wants. He's asking sticker and won't budge. Yea/Nea? Your thoughts appreciated.

If sticker is at MSRP then I would say , trying to do any better is really hard on the new Camaro, because of demand. Don't pay more then MSRP, because their are choice dealers out their that honor MSRP. I was not able to get anything better then that some have done better then MSRP, but not sure about detail of their deal. I would not expect prices to come down and as said by Scotty price increases could be looming. Go to GM web site and option out the car and it should give you a MSRP on that build. The vin# might help as well.

Go for it! I totally understand your position as I have never paid MSRP in all my years of buying cars, but its really a challenge at this time to purchase an SS under MSRP, especially that the recent production contraint has reduced SS builds by 50%. Good luck.

I'll look it over pretty close. In this internet age, there aren't many secrets price wise that folks selling new cars can hide. I was an accountant in a previous life. If my wife wasn't an earth bound angel, I wouldn't be considering this...

I backed out of the deal. The car is a victory red 2SS/RS auto tranny with a hole in the roof. I didn't like the hole in the roof and was looking more for a 1SS. They didn't offer enough for the wife's Wrangler either. It's still there if anyone is looking for something similar. Located west of Houston. They will sell at sticker, but won't go any lower.
