Any news on engines, HP rating or pricing.

I saw the unveiling of the Camaro at the Toronto Auto Show with Mr. Camaro (aka-Scott S.).

I don't work Friday's or Saturdays so It'd be perfect. I'd get to fall in love all over again. Maybe I can even convince my g/f to come out with me.
If you don't have a car to bring... you can just buy a ticket to the Museum. That ticket will get you into the show.

That is what i was thinking. some of us get together and get know each other a little, although i have no idea how that could be done .

Im super exicted about this, but im also about this becasue even tho it entirely possible for me to go, i cant because we going thru a little cash flow problem, and gas hit $3.95 here, so im like because i cant go, but as long as an @$$ load of pic get uploaded, then im fine

Someone needs to corner Scott for about two hrs and pepper him with all our questions!! Actually, maybe some moderator (Dragoneye) who is going should start a "Questions you'd like me to ask Scott at the unveiling" thread.

Rick look at the show logo and registration page again, right under "Back at the Brickyard", it says:

Camaro/Firebird Gathering & Chevrolet/Pontiac Pace Car Reunion

Looks like we've got you covered , I'll be there working the show with my '67 so bring yours out. Just a note, even though it says Chevrolet/Pontiac Pace Cars we'll not turn away any GM Pace Car. We've got at least one person bringing an awesome SSR Pacer that was used at several NASCAR events.

There is a thread here going with some more info:

P.S.
Also Rick I think you may be on to something. I went to the unveiling of the pace car(s) for the 500 this year. The 'vert 'vette is done in silver and black (lime green trim instead of red though) to commemorate the Corvette first time as a pace car in '78, 30 years ago. So they just may do something like that since the Camaro did pace the race in '69. Of course that wasn't the first year Camaro paced the race, and they have done the white/orange stripe thing again in '97. So it wouldn't bother me if they did a white/blue theme, but I AM somewhat biased

Excellent stuff! There will be a plethora of info, specs, pictures, videos to get our hands on!

It did make me a bit sad though. The "we are now authorised to let you know you will see everything there is to see on September" kinda sounds like "and in the meanwhile and up to then we have nothing else to tell you so we don't "ruin" the event, so feel free to keep on guessing".

Beh. Need more news now!

Oorrrrrr we can all just read/listen to the official release of long-anticipated info that will answer all of our questions for us before we even need to ask them!!!

Don't you remember that picture of Scott and a 2x4? I don't wanna corner him anywhere!

The Illinois Camaro Club will be well represented also. As of today (May 15) I have a list of 18 cars scheduled to participate.

This should be one heck of a Party!!!!!

Let's make this one something to Remember for a Long time!

I was there for the Indy2YK in 2000 with my 69 SS396 Camaro. I am booked for the "Back To The Brickyard" with my 02 Camaro SS.

I was at the unveiling of the 02 Camaro SS 30th Anniversary LE at Carlisle in 2002. I was at the unveiling of the concept Camaro in January 2006 in Detroit.

I wouldn't miss this show.

Unfortunately not going to be able to make this trip, looked into it. Cost for me is just over 700 (flight/car/hotel) for the weekend and I'd rather save that towards the actual purchase.

Sorry but our hands are tied. The club members have known about the plan for unveiling for a while, I personally about bit my tongue off not being able to say anything about it until we got the OK. There are a couple of tid-bits more, maybe Scott will spill those beans. I'm sure they would have let us release the info sooner, but most likely wanted to make sure they had "all their ducks in a row" before it got out. Would have been pretty bad if something happened and there were no cars to unveil after saying there would be. Gotta "Keep the faith"
