If you want to drive a car with a lot of horsepower in Austria you have to spend a lot of money.
Additional to the purchasing price (including shipping from USA and European duty) there are costs for technical changes to get a typification.
Then there are different taxes you have to pay: The so-called "Normverbrauchsabgabe" (fuel-consumption-dependend tax) is 16% of the purchasing price (incl. shipping and duty). The CO2-tax is 25 Euro for each gramm CO2 emissions more than 180g/km (Camaro: about 325g = 3625 Euros). Additional you have to pay 20% value-added-tax on these taxes
Including all these costs and taxes a 2SS/RS costs in Austria about 60kEuros.

The front license plate is a problem. On my car the bracket for US-license plates was already mounted (will holes in the bumper). Preliminary I decided to put my license plate on this bracket, allthough it doesnt fit (you can see this in the pictures). But that will not be the final solution.

Some members of the German Camaro Forum did the mounting of the plates in different ways.

Thank you for your complete reply.
Here in Italy there are duty and taxes problem too. For a 2LT I must pay IVA (VAT) of 20%, 10% of duty. Once I have the car I have to pay every year a tax of car property that depends by horse power... =) LoL.

I found a dealer that sell a 2LT/RS for 35k with italian licence plate "ready-for-street" with nothing else to pay (except for the property tax and insurance).

In Austria there is an annuall tax depending on HP too. For the Camaro this tax is about 1.900 Euros per year.
In addition with insurance and fuel costs, owning a Camaro is pretty expensive...

I agree... but a 2 LT will be mine anyway...
I was able to buy a 2 SS/RS too but was too expansive in fuel for my wallet..

You have a great car now and there is no one that can't resist to look at your car when you're on street!

I noticed a lot of negative comments on the rear park assist...This camaro in Austria has them in the front aswell. What do you guys and gals think?

Didn't notice til you mentioned it. First I've heard of it... not sure I like the looks and also wonder why it's even needed in the front.

F4st1, many thanks

I advice you when if I go to Italy. I want to do a trip by car but I need an agreement with my wife, she prefers plane

About the park assist I am thinking to install it too, I had a Mustang before and here there are a lot of streets and parkings not for big cars and each cms are important and Camaro is a bit bigger than Stang.

A friend suggest me this parking system! http://www.proxel.com/
It don't need to do holes in the bumpers!

This sistem is not so good when it rains, but has a great precision when it's fine.
The cons is that the bumpers must be removed from the car to perform the installation...

I don't mind the rear ones at all.

But I don't like the front ones.

Those large long plates are realy bad...
